I found it comical to see Tipsy actually step on court with a wheelie gear bag. It was even funnier to see the poor guy trudge off stadium court, looking downcast as he schlepped his rolling grannybag the 50m or so back to the locker room.

Sure, it's a convenient way to carry gear but it just made him look so un-athletic and ordinary. Like a jaded, traveling salesman on his way to the next flight.

It's merely progresss. All the consultants and sales people I know junked their attache cases 10 years ago and began using stylish leather backpacks and shoulder bags. Then they junked those and began to use what look to be rolling carry-on luggage to visit clients. The tennis world is just a little late catching on to the trend.

I remember Michael Chang using one some time back when he was still on tour.

As for tennis, I think one downside would be using a wheeled bag on clay. The wheels will get all gritty.

I guess that means they will be carrying an ipad with virtual racquets next?

Because most sales guys in tech are just carrying ipads now.

I was there and my daughter started to laugh when she saw him leaving the court. It was pretty funny
