Texas / Georgia 3-3...deciding match 5-5 in third set....and then Georgia defaulted for conduct!

Unreal ending! So good of George to find a way to get that last game. Wagland getting that 4th overrule then cussing out the ref is a meltdown! Huge team win! Ohio state very beatable!

We can either credit that win to all the positive encouragement vicious vik has given texas tennis or for all the much appreciated tough love he's shown towards the team over recent years. Either way all credit to him as long as he's proud of the team and he can live with the result. But one thing is for sure, center had nothing to do with this!

Glasspool and Goldhoff getting really lucky there. Would rather see them winning in straights. Don't know if they are worth the money.

If goldhoff had lost, VV would have been very displeased and ultimately wouldn't have been able to accept the loss and it would have been centers fault for not getting George in the right frame of mind to play. Considering we won in three sets at the top of the line, and center can't take credit for helping or we can't just understand that the players are learning how to handle the big moments and center probably doesn't have all that much to do with his stuff at times, the only logical explanation is that the players were somehow able to overcome the terrible atmosphere that is normally created by center, and found a way to win. Hopefully we can keep it going

Agree to disagree Mr. "ChadHill". I think that we got lucky today. It could have been Illinois part 2. The only upside I see is that Naumann really came out there with authority instead of last week against Illinois. He had the aggressiveness of a little sedated baby kitten last week when it counted. Quality win today though.

I like the win! Even though we lost on the 4 and 6 line, they were still very competitive losses. Everyone competed and fought hard til the end. I liked what i saw. I think Goldhoff and Berkowicz will keep getting better. I really liked what i saw from the Michigan match and i think Berkowicz is still finding his groove.

Maybe some people will feel that the A&M match was an unlucky loss

that is a solid win. luck cuts both ways, and this time was texas' time to win. Not the way I would have thought -- bottom 4 would have been by guess. As big an upset as SHO beating Smith, I thought Suds losing to Pieters was just as unexpected. Will have to bring it to beat tOSU.

I actually hope Clement Homs plays the 6th single. 1 out of 3 (Homs, Holiner, Sitaram) has got to be able to step up and play the 6 line

I told you TopDawg, I told you! I told you to be scared, that Bevo was going to impale UGA. I wonder how Diaz feels knowing he was out coached by Center?
Goldhoff was very gutsy after recovering from Illinois. That's what you call learning and growing.

Why is today lucky but Illinois not unlucky? Couldn't we just as easily as say we should be unbeaten?

It seems Center has learned to stay out of the players ways this year which is good. He is showing maturity as a coach at last. And I do think tough lie is needed, it's how you get better. This Georgia win probably would not have eer happened if I and the team had been ok with losing to Illinois.

I don't know if I'd call a 4-3 win that came down to two 3rd set TBs impaled but I don't have a doubt that the better team won the match. Congrats.

Vik, everything denton1 has said has been sarcastic. He's making fun of the way you, and other people talk about the team as if you know what's going on. Center is coaching the same way, it's the players that are just better this year, so it gives him ya little more freedom to back off. Even then though, center is still the exact same guy. Of course tough love is needed, but you abandon the team at times and talk crap about players , coaches, and results instead of showing support throughout the tough moments. Even now you are hedging your comments about being so angry if goldhoff loses to illinois and an unacceptable loss as a team by implying that maybe the team got a little unlucky. Why didn't you say stuff like that before? Of course we should all be down a little after that loss, but there is no need to panic and have a meltdown. The Georgia win had nothing to do with you not accepting the illinois loss. It had everything to do with the team. They were ****ed they let one go against a team they feel they should have beaten, but the players and coaches stayed calm and didn't tell about how it's an unacceptable loss. It might have even been a good thing to some extent-an early in the season wake up call to keep everyone on their toes. Everyone on this team, including the coaches is learning and growing, sometimes it takes years, and sometimes it might take a little longer than you, or maybe even I, would like. but it's not about you or me...it's about supporting them-everyone involved. This team has the personnel to beat any team and the belief that they can.

Agree that Buckeyes are beatable, if Horns win the double's point, Bucks will be challenged to get 4 of the singles.
I think Buckeyes will need and can get 3 of 4 with Kobelt, Steinbach, Metka and Callahan. If Polannen or Diaz can get a W that would be seal a tOSU victory.
But after the Bucks beat Florida 4-1 and then Gators 4-2 win over Georgia today, i would disagree with the "more beatable than Georgia" part.

Georgia played without wagland and brasseaux only played dubs. Florida match doesn't show much. Dubs might be key, but I'm not afraid of any matchup... All the horns are playing well.

Yep Homs needs to play at 6. I thought he kinda earned the spot with the gutsy win over Wake, plus Holiner and Sitaram have been struggling.

When i saw just a clip of Homs hit, he seems to hit w/ depth. I don't know how consistent he is but he beat LSU's #1 player, so this guy can play. I'd like to see him at #6.

I think if Holiner finds groundstrokes and a consistent serve toss, i bet they'll continue to play with him. He seems to give players fit w/ his serve and volley game.

I hate to do it again but if Center continues to refuse to play Homs at 6 then things must be blamed on him again.

We should be ranked like #7 in the newest rankings if anything lower it will be a disgrace.

    380 of VV's 394 posts are negative. I think it's a schtik.

#6 is great indeed. MSU loses to Cal, then ND, then beats a four-man UGA team 4-3, and is ranked #11? I think the Illini would throttle that team.

    Vicious vik,

If clement plays 6 and doesn't do well can you already tell us how you plan to blame center?

Also, maybe you can just call up Sudanwa or one of your sources close to the team and ask them about the situation at 6...

I have no problem with Center's line-up. Homs had a few good matches but didn't have a good fall season. He's still unproven. Holiner and Sitaram have been clutch early in their college careers. In past, they tend to show up in bigger matches. I commend Center for trusting in his seniors and allowing them a chance to play through their slumps.

Now that they are approaching early outdoor matches, the #6 will shake it out soon as they will have a lot of matches to test out Sitaram/Holiner/Homs.

Vik - i would think u'd have more sympathy to show support for Sitaram. Sounds like Center has more support than even a relative of Sitaram.

Homs and Holiner had a good day. The earlier assessment on Holiner is so spot on. When he has time to get some good practice in before a match or at least a bunch of consecutive matches, he finds his groove and plays well. Will be interesting to see who take the #6 spot.
