I live in downtown Austin near the Whole Foods. If you are a fan of curry and Indian cuisine we can go to this great place Guadalupe Street called Clay Pit. Anytime you are in town just let me know.

The wins against Vandy and Georgia got them to the ranking they are at today....how does that make them worthless?

I think he means the Georgia win is less valuable now because of Georgia's plummet in the rankings. But Vandy actually went up and also that Cal win is very valuable.

FWIW -- Georgia played their final match of the ITA Championships against MSU with only 4 players.

And they still only lost 4-3. Georgia is among the 10 or 12 best teams in the country. That ranking is resultant from the mathematical calculation of the Houston tourney and Wagland's dq.

Im still curious about whether talks with verbal commit Jo Wilfried Tsonga are still going on. Heard that he was interested but was deciding whether he wanted to play the Us Open or come to Austin this fall. Hopefully Center doesn't let this deal slide. Tsonga would be a really strong addition to the Longhorn roster along with recent commit Wawrinka.

Going to need some strong singles play today. TCU took doubles fairly easily.

look we need to focus on my important topics like the acquisition of Tsonga and Wawrinka. Great they beat TCU...GREAT but center needs to keep our minds on hunting for the big fish like these 2 phenomenal athletes.

I will be at the match vs Florida State tonight. I've missed seeing matches in person, seeing the good ole FSU players will bring back good memories. Texas should win fairly easily.

Blake Davis has now yelled "you are awful" to the umpire twice already 5 games in after dropping his racquet and approaching him. No penalty given though

Ump threatened to kick out any fans who taunt on court 2. Davis's fans getting personal. Center and Texas assistant personally calling fans out in the crowd.

    That's the turn match too.

Match might be headed towards 4-3 for Texas, which is surprisingly good for FSU, although they won't finish all matches, I suppose. Also, recall that FSU almost won the doubles point. Not an impressive showing for Texas.

Holiner at 5 and Homs at 6 is not a lineup I recall from earlier matches. Sitaram is sitting out. How about Naumann? I guess he is usually #5 and is missing, which is keeping the match closer than it might be otherwise.

Something got under Texas assistants skin. After Hons finished Goldin 10-7 in the super breaker, he yelled "what's the score??" And the Texas players watching responded with a 5-0 chant. Goldin was called "Gracie" the whole natch by Texas players. Goldin also referred to himself as too good many times. Pretty comical stuff. Always a show when FSU plays, too bad for them too much of it is non tennis related.

Naumann was sitting out as was Sitaram. Both were in the stands for the match. Holiner has lost a lot so far this year. Once Naumann returns Homs should definitely play 6 regularly.

    glasspool breaking Davis to clinch

Some fine examples of Davis's poor serving today and also the Davis fans turning this match into their personal circus in this video. The cheers at the end aren't for Glasspool they are for Davis... I guess for losing in a routine fashion?

As they were leaving the courts they yelled declaring the Pennick-Allison tennis center "Blake's house". If by Blake's house they mean losing in doubles and singles, hitting 2nd serves at 70 mph and personally attacking an umpire over inconsequential line-calls while being a representative as kids from an academy he once trained at were watching, then yes it was Blake's house.

Glasspool didn't let any of this nonsense faze him. He just stepped up to the line and served well and got a fairly easy win.

    Hess Olesen finishing Cotrone

SHO controlled this match start to finish. Cotrone did not play well and never got his teeth into the match. Soren had too much variety.

Weird, I know he trained at Austin Tennis Academy and his brother went to Tech, I wonder if there is some animosity toward UT for some real or imagined slight. Also, Hultquist was an assistant at UT before the Center era and Crowell played there as well.

    Goldin breaking Homs

Homs has a nice game. Likes to go for the corners on his forehand but can sometimes press too much. Goldin has a big lanky forehand that he can dictate play with, but struggles mightily on the backhand while on the stretch. Goldin also has serious potential to take over the position of FSU trash talker in chief as his career progresses. Self declared "too good"

Are you sure some of those fans weren't yelling let's go Blake sarcastically to mock the FSU fans ?

No they had FSU stuff on and were with his family. I think they were his friends and stuff so they were just trying to have a good time but still they made it all about them.

odd Monday match tomorrow in Chapel Hill at noon eastern. Because it is at such a weird time the home factor will not be a huge deal but the travel for UT will be.

Naumann will hopefully be back for this match and Homs should be the selection at 6 to face Nelson Vick. If Naumann is not back then it could be trouble for Texas

UNC is favored at 1 and 2 but not completely out of the question that Texas could snag one of those two courts.

Clark vs Goldhoff at 3 should be a very tight match that could go either way, I would give the slight edge to Goldhoff though.

Soren should give Berkowicz plenty of tips on how to beat Esben but it'll be up to the Frenchman if we can carry them out or not.

Naumann needs to rally here. This is a match he needs to win. Homs turning it around in set two. Glasspool and SHO barely hanging on.

Not a bad loss on the road unless you're a die-hard fan. Two closely ranked and matched teams. Texas probably wins this match in Austin 4-3.

No it's not. A little bit disappointing after talking the doubles point. But this isn;t a stunning result. A loss to Wake would be bad though

texas had some luck wins before, they are a good team, but on the road @ UNC u definetly can lose. UNC also had a home win vs illinois. And they had their chances on the road at Ohio State. They only played bad @ Duke, but that was their first match of the season.

Yeah a bit. It's a good collection of players and they are entertaining to watch. I particularly like Glasspool, Homs and Goldhoff as players. I certainly want them to beat teams like FSU, UNC and Wake which are teams I don't care for. \

Really exciting to head back up for the Oklahoma match in a few weeks.
