    Goldin breaking Homs

Homs has a nice game. Likes to go for the corners on his forehand but can sometimes press too much. Goldin has a big lanky forehand that he can dictate play with, but struggles mightily on the backhand while on the stretch. Goldin also has serious potential to take over the position of FSU trash talker in chief as his career progresses. Self declared "too good"

Are you sure some of those fans weren't yelling let's go Blake sarcastically to mock the FSU fans ?

No they had FSU stuff on and were with his family. I think they were his friends and stuff so they were just trying to have a good time but still they made it all about them.

odd Monday match tomorrow in Chapel Hill at noon eastern. Because it is at such a weird time the home factor will not be a huge deal but the travel for UT will be.

Naumann will hopefully be back for this match and Homs should be the selection at 6 to face Nelson Vick. If Naumann is not back then it could be trouble for Texas

UNC is favored at 1 and 2 but not completely out of the question that Texas could snag one of those two courts.

Clark vs Goldhoff at 3 should be a very tight match that could go either way, I would give the slight edge to Goldhoff though.

Soren should give Berkowicz plenty of tips on how to beat Esben but it'll be up to the Frenchman if we can carry them out or not.

Naumann needs to rally here. This is a match he needs to win. Homs turning it around in set two. Glasspool and SHO barely hanging on.

Huge effort here from Soren. He's been playing really well as of late.

Bad loss for Naumann. Goldhoff also could have done better.

Not a bad loss on the road unless you're a die-hard fan. Two closely ranked and matched teams. Texas probably wins this match in Austin 4-3.

No it's not. A little bit disappointing after talking the doubles point. But this isn;t a stunning result. A loss to Wake would be bad though

texas had some luck wins before, they are a good team, but on the road @ UNC u definetly can lose. UNC also had a home win vs illinois. And they had their chances on the road at Ohio State. They only played bad @ Duke, but that was their first match of the season.

Yeah a bit. It's a good collection of players and they are entertaining to watch. I particularly like Glasspool, Homs and Goldhoff as players. I certainly want them to beat teams like FSU, UNC and Wake which are teams I don't care for. \

Really exciting to head back up for the Oklahoma match in a few weeks.

I haven't voiced my displeasure with the UNC loss yet. But it's there. I won't say anything if the team comes out strong and blasts Wake

Gotta win this one today. Would be an unsuccessful trip to go 0-2. It'll be interesting to see how these results change vs Wake this time around.

Nice win for Texas today. Wake came close again but couldn't get it done. Good to see Soren get a big win to close out the match. Hopefully Glasspool retired only because the match was decided and isn't actually hurt.

Goldhoff is now 1-7 in his last 8 matches. He has definitely hit some rough sledding.

Looks like Texas has found their #6 as Homs gets it done in crunch time again.

I was in Austin yesterday. Had a couple hours and time to drive by the tennis facility. Morning time so nothing going on with the men on the road. Very cool campus.

Be interesting to hear if Goldhoff is playing through an injury or just a mid-freshman slump.

It is a pretty cool place. I enjoy going up there for matches now.

Goldhoff looked 100% physically fine vs FSU. I think he is just going through a slump, having a freshman lull after such a hot start in the fall. It'll be key for the Longhorns though if he can return to form. He can't keep losing matches again and again if the team wants to keep up their high level of success or want to have any chance of beating Oklahoma or Baylor.

Shouldn't make a nickels difference for either player in this match. It does clearly speak to Goldhoff's condition.

Berkowicz lost at 3 while Goldhoff rolled at 4. I think this might be a good switch though. Berkowicz has a game more likely to threaten better players at the moment while Goldhoff can beat guys at #4 more consistently than he can at 3.

Agree that #4 is better for Goldhoff at this point. Confidence is everything at this level, and when you have even the slightest doubt in yourself, you're road kill. Goldy will build his record a bit at 4, and Berk can parlay his experience and confidence at the #3 spot.

pretty impressive win for Texas. Berkowicz in particular was strong.

I'm going to the OU match Friday. I'm really jacked up for it already.

The Sooners will go down book it. Roddick will not be able to handle it.

Oklahoma only has a chance if John Roddick has a personal fit and threatens the officials. This will happen for sure but the key is whether the officials will cave or not.

The big match is today. Texas has to take doubles to have a chance, the doubles will be very close. Texas the slight favorite at #3 doubles and OU the favorite at #2, so it will come down to #1.

In singles Texas can certainly win 5 and 6. The Longhorns need to definitely take those two matches . 1-4 are advantage Oklahoma. Hess-Olesen is capable of an inspired match and beating Llamas at #1. That's the position that Texas needs to hope for because 2-4 are solidly in the corner for Oklahoma.

For such a strong (and on paper at least, deep) team, Oklahoma have struggled a bit down the order this season. They can't seem to settle on a 5/6 nor can they seem to get consistent production from these positions.
