Haha that's kinda funny. Except I don't know how Roddick could speak so confidently about it. He was sitting on the far end of #5 at the time of that call. I was kinda glad to see Roddick get so into the match. He knew all the Oklahoma players by nickname and even heckled the Texas players. He was particularly getting on Holiner and Lewis hard at #3 doubles when Holiner was really struggling with his serve and when Lewis couldn't find the strings for several consecutive points.

I agree that I hope Goldhoff doesn't get labeled a cheater now. Like Evan King says in the twitter comments, that's a typical college tennis call. The red needs to overrule that. And I hope that incident doesn't overshadow the rest of the match. That was really the only point of controversy in all 6 matches. A very sportsmanlike match otherwise, which isn't all that common in college tennis.

Texas will need a rally at #1 dubs to avoid dropping the point.

Looks like it's going to come down to Glasspool. Big effort from the Cowboys here.

Naumann bails Texas out and clinches it 4 in the 3rd.

Whoa big rally from Naumann down 2-4. Because Sachs is now up a break at #2.

I was there and it really wasn't a rally from Naummann. He just hung around. Didn't do anything special but Bohrnstedt self-destructed and started trying to finish off points way more quickly than he had been. He got impatient and starting missing EVERYTHING.

It was good match for Homs agains Haworth after getting hooked twice by Haworth on calls.

Berkowicz dominated Kadhe, but Goldhoff continues to spiral.

No worries, obviously Roddick agreed with you, but you are right that the umpires should have done something.

I don't live in austin anymore to follow the team but i really liked what i saw from Goldhoff early in the season. I thought he was a very scrappy player but has some firepower on both sides. I felt like he needs to get stronger to keep up with the long season. I think he is a very fit player but i think he's getting mentally tired from the long season. I think he tries to play a pretty big game sometimes and that causes a lot of unforced errors. I think he's kind of wearing down a lil bit. He kind of reminds me of Lloyd Glasspool. I remember seeing Lloyd his freshman year and thought he'd be very good once he gets mentally stronger and better conditioning in the off-season. I think the same will happen to Goldhoff.

Clemson, Atatu -- any thoughts on the players and how they are developing throughout the season?

That 2nd pt was so blatant not even funny, what was the official seeing?
Even the video shows inside the line.

Few pts later Webb called a serve out after he already missed the return, probably should not have been allowed, he misses return in the net then puts a finger up. Good grief what is going on.

It's funny you say that about Glasspool because I was talking with one of the Texas guys' parents yesterday and she said the same thing about Lloyd. She said he struggled HORRIBLY his freshman year. He wasn't ready for the grind. She thinks Goldhoff is in the same place right now and she hopes he figures it out.

He had such a great fall it's a bit surprising how rapidly he has fallen off in the spring. But the fall shows his ability. It'll be important for him next year to pace himself and understand the grind of college tennis better. Your analysis of his game is spot on. Players who play a bigger game like Goldhoff and Glasspool usually need more time to adjust than players who play a more defensive game .

Goldhoff has been losing too much. I would drop him out of the line-up right now until he recovers and move 5 and 6 up and put in Sudanwa at #6.

It wasn't Goldhoff's mom. It was a friend of ours. I won't say who. She said Roddick thought she was coming over for a photo op, then she lit into him. It really wasn't about him questioning a call. It was the language he was using, which was pretty vile apparently, and how he acted in front of everyone. She also apparently introduced Roddick to the grandmother who was sitting there within earshot of his vulgarities. Moms rock.

Well the last 4 letters of Andy's last name pretty much describe him, so not really surprised he would act that way.

Clemson tennis -- excellent posts, greatly appreciate the vids and commentary all of it! (not sure what GL read, but indeed nothing inflammatory whatsoever).

I know you were there, but I'm guessing don't know the UT alums -- but from the pics it looks like both Kellen Damico and Ed Corrie were there.? Can someone confirm that is them?
I do recognize: Camillone, Hilliard, Wiegand. (sp? on all of those names)
    Thanks.

Goldhoff was cheating like crazy again against TCU. I question the sportsmanship of the University of Texas. Center really just needs to take Goldhoff out because he is just an embarrassment to the whole program. Hopefully one day we can look past the cheating and enjoy our wins without them being overshadowed by the longhorns cheating DNA. Only UT cheats in these situations. I have never seen another college cheat before. ONLY UT!

Pretty easy match for Texas today. You could from early on that TCU was not going to give a huge fight.

1: Chappell played one of the worst sets I have ever seen a college player play in the first set. He was trying to take the ball early but was shanking and sailing balls long. Soren barely did anything. In the 2nd set he got his teeth into the match more and started to frustrate Soren a bit and actually led 5-3 and Soren let out some rare yells of frustration when Chappell was getting close to winning the set. But he could not close it and SHO won the last 4 games of the set and the match 6-0 7-5.

2: This was a good match. Lugones crushes his forehands and likes to move his opponent around the court. Glasspool hit some really good winners at times. Lugones's backhand has much less pace than his forehand so Glasspool was able to attack that shot and close out some points that way.

3: Berkowicz led 5-0 in the 2nd before losing 6 straight games and was 0-30 on his serve, so 2 points away from the fabled 5-0 to 5-7 set. Dachs just dug in and fought back to make it a very good match in the end. Berkowicz regained his form and hit several nice winners in the super tiebreak to take it 10-5

Hardly saw any of 4-6. I know Goldhoff was down 2-4 and then ended up winning 6-4 6-2. Homs remains undefeated in dual match play and Naumann overcame dropping the first set to win. He was the clincher yet again.

Damico was there, not sure if that was Ed Corrie or his brother David, who lives in Austin and used to be a regular at the UT matches when Ed was playing.

Denton1 and others tapped into the college tennis scene in tx:
Question: is texas really known for cheating? I mean, is that real ... or is 'hook'em horns" just a rallying cry?

It is a flawed system, and the home team hires the usta linesmen...so is the cheating at ut like most teams....where every team has a couple of djerkwads who know which lines to do it so the umpire does not overrule?

    Baylor vs Texas tomorrow:

Doubles is a slight Texas lean with a stronger #1 team and the ability to pull out either 1 or 2.

1: Pradella vs Hess-Olesen - Pradella won 6-4 6-2 last year but Soren is a better player this year. I expect a 3 setter here, should be a great match. Pradella to win in 3.

2: Lenz vs Glasspool - Glasspool won last year in two tiebreaks. This year I expect Lenz to take in in 2 sets.

3: Galeano vs Berkowicz - Tough one to read. Berkowicz has the type of game to offset a heavy topspin baselined like Galeano, so I will go with Berkowicz here.

4: Lupieri vs Goldhoff - Lupieri in better form and in front of a hostel crowd I have to go with Lupier here.

5: Zsiga vs Naumann - Zsiga in 2

6: Dornbusch vs Homs - This will be a great match. Two very strong #6 players. Homs has not lost a dual match all season and Dornbusch is ranked and has some nice wins. I predict Homs in classic 3 set Homs style.

Baylor 4-3 it looks like with the decider probably being at #1.

    i would bet on Baylor
i think they are tougher from 1 to 6 on the whole
doubles, #1 and #2 singles are the most important spots, could go either ways

1: Pradella will take it in 2 with his form right now, thought tightly contested sets.
    2. Lenz all the way. Glasspool progresses a lot from last year, but Lenz is just a different level from what I can tell.
    3. Berkowicz in 3
    4. Luprieri does not have the kind of power to hit Goldhoff off the court. If the Texas freshman plays with the right mind, he should be able to pull this off.
    5. Zsiga will be tough for anyone to beat at 5.
    6. This one is hard to call, it will be close.

Lot more intensity from Baylor in doubles, crowd large and helping. Texas will need to bring it in singles early.

Started at 6. Doubles ended around 7. So this video was taken around 8:15-8:30 or so. Long first set
