I hear you about the distance Clemson, but these matches would never have been at the old tennis center anyway, as these are the only indoor courts that texas has ever had. Later on in the outdoor season it will get interesting with a combo of intramural courts and city of austin courts.

Lock has a stellar backhand. But anything he tries SHO can do better and nullify the attempted attack

Going to a 3rd set between naumann and CGM

Disastrously bad last game. Both players making poor errors.

    Two things:
    1. Perhaps the biggest thing is missing Top player in Goldhoff, and Glasspool at #3 is, while playing, not yet "game-ready".

    2. For the 4th season in a row, Center is struggling to get the right alignment in Doubles. Relying on winning 4 singles matches against top 10 teams, even with Glasspool and Goldhoff is not a risky proposition at best. The Fall season should be spent with more intensity around the right doubles competition and giving them enough doubles mathces to square those pairings.

Any update on why Homs wasn't named in the 8 for the weekend? Injured presumably?

He's in warmup gear, as is Goldhoff. No obvious injuries though like a limp, boot or cast

wow, how bad would it have been to lose to Florida State?? So close to doing so. The Center hot seat watch would have been back on in my opinion. This year's team is supposed to be better than last year. And Goldhoff being out is not that big of a deal because he lost most of his matches mast year anyway.

The hot seat doesn't work like that on a match by match basis. But if you want to think it does that's certainly your prerogative. The Longhorns had a decent season last year. They are getting a little better year over year under Center. Improvements are never a straight line. My question is what's up with Goldhoff? Injured or what?

I have to say that the quality of the Texas vs FSU match was not that impressive. I felt like many of the players weren't playing great. Maybe it's the earliness of the season or adjusting to the new format, I'm not sure. But I looked around at the courts and say a lot of ghastly errors and overall poor play from players on both teams. And I usually don't ever come away with that impression from a college match.

Did some checking. Homs tore his ACL. Goldhoff has a back injury. Lewis has ligament issues in his elbow. Hope we can get everyone back.

Does anyone know whether this Washington team we're playing today is any good?

I heard they had a horrendous year last year.

They're better than last year but they haven't played anyone yet this year. Texas should at worst win 5-2 if not 6-1.

Did anyone watch the match in person? Hess-Olesen just killed Washington's #1 Stewart 0 and 2. Is Stewart that bad? I heard that he was nothing more than a pusher who had some success in juniors by retrieving the ball. Did he look like he played that style?

Had it. Could not finish vs Ohio State. It was too much to expect the Freshman to finish it off vs Metka.

Watched a little bit of the live streaming today. Just solid all around. Lin couldn't do anything. Undefeated in the spring - 12 wins in a row. Exciting to see how long he can keep that streak going.

He's unflappable and a solid rock on court. Usually you associate that type of player as limited offensively but Soren can also be aggressive and create winners. He is not what you would call a "pusher"

Seems like he has been there since Earl Campbell was roaming the 40 acres. Great college player and I'm sure the Longhorns will miss him.

I think team is getting better. Played without Homs and Lewis all year. Goldhoff, Glasspool are getting stronger. Glasspool looks all the way back with his results in Chicago. Overall, I think it has been a good start.

Agree that this team COULD challenge any team in the country IF everyone is clicking. Nauman, who has been an absolute rock his entire career, is struggling but I expect that to change, along with Goldhoff coming all the way back to full strength at some point.

Would argue that nice doesn't quite describe the nature of of that win. NC is a very good team, better in my mind than tOSU and a team with top 5 potential.

For Glasspool to be down 1-5 in the 3rd and come back to win against Schneider is a great accomplishment.

Getting Goldhoff back to 90% to 100% will be the key to Texas' season.

It's a stunning comeback from Glasspool. He's not the type of player you would expect to rally like that. He's more of a front runner with his great serve. But I'm quite stunned to see him rally like that vs a player like Schneider
