Big match tomorrow. You've gotta slightly favor UT at home and outdoors. I'm excited to go because I've ever seen any of the Illinois guys play before.

I'll be wearing a Clemson shirt if any of you are going. (Smiler, Atatu, rattler, vicious vik etc.)

I'm hoping for a great match

On LHN, those Illinois Orange shirts are really... Bright. Need sunglasses to watch this in HD.

Very good coverage for college tennis. I was impressed with the Oklahoma v Virginia and this too. Wish more was on television.

I'll see if Clemson_tennis makes it on TV.

Is the crowd coming across on TV? Both teams have a lot of fans and they are very vocal.

    I'm
High up now lol. I'll go lower to get on TV! In singles

Just the front row behind Oleson's match.

Unless something changes, they really need to go to a more competitive match.

It's nice that they've stuck with the Mee/Bazarnik match for a while

Mee really showed a lot in that set. Nice comeback. He dominated Bazarnik those last four games.

It would be quite a feat for Illinois to beat Texas on the road without their #1 player. They will need someone to come back and win a three-setter to do it. Bazarnik has not been good at finishing matches, so it's probably going to have to be Matsuya, the freshman. Probably not happening.

And what is it with these scores that keep changing? Is it that hard to post a simple tennis score correctly? Isn't UT supposed to be a world-class institution?

Illinois is having a good season, but it's been disappointing that between Guignon, Page, and Bazarnik they couldn't find a decent #6.

I never thought Matsuya would be in the line-up this year. He has been a pleasant surprise.

No idea. I'm not an insider. I hope it's just a minor injury and they're holding him out for the A&M match as a precaution.

I did not see him at the facility once. The Illini fans I asked didn't know and I didn't feel like they would give me an answer if I asked the manager or trainer

My other guess would be that he was playing Davis Cup, but Libya hasn't competed in Davis Cup since 2001 and there's no way he would be on the UK Davis Cup team at this point.

I hope it's nothing serious. It would be so Illinois for them to lose their #1 player right before the Ohio State match, after they beat them soundly in a meaningless consolation match a couple of weeks ago. :(

My guess is either he had a sickness that kept him bedridden in the hotel today or that he violated a team rule and had to stay back for punishment.

If he had a physical injury I feel like he would have been at the match cheering his teammates on.

We let a freaking indoor team come in and beat us in Austin? Without their #1 player? What the hell happened out there? Clemson man, what the hell happened out there? Also are you going to the Ohio State match tomorrow?

We certainly can't let a 2nd indoor school come in and beat us again.

They may end up playing indoors due to rain...so I got a little info on the new facility...apparently the AD wants former Alumni to fund a new facility on the east side by the baseball field but there are issues with the neighborhood. I guess the plan to use the IM fields is off. It's pretty screwed up because they just demolished the old facility and didn't really have any plans...

Yeah for real. Especially considering Penick-Allison was a good facility.

Sounds like tennis is not a high priority in the athletic department. Are the coaches still expected to recruit at a high level with sub-par facilities? Maybe the Athletic Director should tour the facilities at Oklahoma and Baylor to see what they are up against.

Not to mention Rice and SMU with their new facilities, and A&M which has a great facility.

Does anyone know why they demolished Penick-Allison? It was in a great location on campus, good scoreboards, great viewing for all 6 courts. It was not outdated or anything. It was comparable to a A&M and Baylor

Would be very surprised if Texas can't beat Ohio State today.

Steinbach has been bad lately, Metka has come up shortly twice in the last 3 matches, Torpegaard was playing great until he collapsed at the end of the Tulsa match, Diaz almost had to retire against Tulsa because he was cramping badly, Pollanen didn't play against Tulsa for whatever reason, plus the Buckeyes don't appear to have a #7 singles player that can move up to #6 and hang with the big boys. Only guy coming in on a winning streak is Callahan and doubles teams.

Home in at 6. Good move. He has more potential than Mee and if he can get back into form #6 will be solid for Texas going down the stretch.

Pollanen is listed in the doubles and singles lineups. Diaz is the sacrificial lamb at #1, which is smart. Could be a tight match.

Callahan is listed on texas livestats with Torp at #2 dubs and also with Diaz at #3.
Guessing that pollanen may still be out of action.
Edit, now changed to pollannen at #2 dubs,

Naumann looked like he had the 1st set - had 3 break points when Steinbach served at 5-6 and Steinbach kept coming in and Naumann couldn't land the lob.

Soren played #1 today. I thought the team played better today. Homs won a tough match and the doubles looked better. Nice win before the conference.

Homs is a lift. He's better than Mee. Good showing from Goldhoff too. He's still the weak link in the team but can get it together at times.

doubles was decisive i think and Horns won 3 of 4 crucial tiebreakers, match was closer as a 4-1 in my eyes also then #4 Goldhoff could ve won it.

Didn't appreciate how easily the team was beat by the Sooners. If Center wants to surrender the Big 12 that easily then I was wrong about his turnaround. Something like that result cannot happen again this season.
