I'm sure Center just hasn't figured that out yet. Just ask V-Vik.
No deal honcho
Maybe. I will try to get someone to cover the business while I leave. I need a day off.
Hilliard cannot hit more than 3 balls in a row in the court.
France native Clement Homs is 3rd member of Longhorns' 2013-14 recruiting class
Hope the link works. Sorry if already posted.
Sounds like Adrien Berkowicz recommended Homs; they are from the same town in France.
Proud of the effort yesterday. Yet still disappointed with the blown chances. There were several in several courts. Naumann should have pushed it to 3 for sure, I think he would have won the 3rd set like 6-2 had he capitalized on the set points. Withrow was fading fast. It makes me mad that Ore is the one to clinch. Awful player who has no tactics a shame Lloyd could not beat him.
Longhorns gone wrong on many many places. More minorities in this team will get them to the next level. I know how that sounds but I speak from wisdom of thought.
Awesome, been looking for one of those.
The players being brought in next year will help. Goldhoff and Berkowicz will be great.
Are you going Jimmy The Greek on us Feddie? Please elaborate on your wisdom behind this thought. Without an explanation it leads to many interpretations.
If Berkowicz can perform like this year's top JUCO transfer Sarkissian did for Pepperdine you guys will be a good bit better
Withrow v Naumann was a great match. Withrow is starting to come around to show the promise he initially had, and Naumann is gonna be a beast. It was a great match, Nick hung tight with him.
Glasspool v Ore was the match players dream about being in, the deciding match in a 3rd set tiebreak!
Adams v Whitehead shows why everyone was after Harrison, he is on a different level. Taking the first set, and then coming from 2-5 in the second to win 7-5 over a Senior in his final mathc, (and his sister's boyfriend), with that crowd was nothing short of impressive.
I was surprised that Suds took out Vinsant so easily, Vinsant on paper is the better player, but he didn't look to handle the pressure nearly as well.
All in all it was a great tennis day.....both teams have a couple of bright years ahead of them, although I think A&M's will be better.
I found it interesting and telling how Center ignored line 1,3 & 5 until 1 clinched, and 3 ended....
Most teams divide up the courts among the three available coaches and don't change those assignments much until matches start to end and coaches become available to roam. Do you have any reason to think that anything different happened?
Better team won. Never in doubt.
I think there was a fair bit of doubt all the way through and certainly about who was going to win the deciding rubber - or were you watching a different match? I'm assuming you did actually watch.
I am well aware how the coaches divide up the courts, but I was making an observation on how Center was avoiding Harrison Adams.
I found it amusing.
Aggies should have played Szabo instead of Minavi. Szabo has beaten Nauman before and probably would have taken down Holiner.
Poor Smiler. Parents never taught him about sarcasm
My mistake, I was mixing you up with your namesake thinking it was just another inane comment rather than a cleverly constructed piece of sarcasm (how was my effort?)
Of course he was avoiding him. Nobody likes being too physically close to a turncoat.
Maybe Adams read all your posts about how bad Center and the team was and decided it was better to go someplace else...........
Well guys, it looks like Penick-Allison is doomed, the new Med School and associated parking lots will be built on-site. That means they are going to have to find a new place to play home matches, I wonder if there is any UT land where they can build a new stadium ? Hope we don't have to haul out to Steiner Ranch to watch UT play from now on...
Meanwhile, Rice is building a new $8 million tennis complex.
Remember when the Horns used to play on the semifinal round day?
How consistently did they do that? How many times in any ten year period?
You're kicking a puppy at this point, no need to rub our faces in it.
I think I'm the only one upset that Penick Alison is going to be torn down for the new med school, no way will tennis fans haul out to Steiner Ranch to watch UT play...
yeah I would prefer the courts to stay where they are.
I'm just saying Clark that its nice to have a team to support in these later rounds and the big moments. Sadly as Longhorn fans we no longer have such a thing. Congrats on your title. Savor it while you can, these things don't last a long time.
We won't always win, and we won't always make the semifinals. When that day comes, we won't come here and trash our coach, our team, and individual players by name. After all: We are VIRGINIA! VIRGINIA!
attempt at big speech fail
Soren got into the round of 16. Albeit through a soft draw.
How about just saying well done to Soren for reaching the round of 16.
Great job in doubles by Holiner and Camillone.
I'm stunned they made the final. Very shocking run. I wonder where that was all season.
Camillione gone now.
Soren had a good run.
Chris is helping out with the UT summer camp and he's actually my sons counselor this week, which is pretty cool.
Anyone know why Korinek is leaving to go to LSU ?
Just speculation, but he didn't play in College Station for the NCAA Regional....I had heard Center thought he Andrew had an attitude and was difficult player/teammate...which frankly I was shocked by. I bet there was some friction between Andrew and Center.
does this surprise anyone? I almost expected it. It's ok though Korinek was borderline D1.
Huh? Borderline D1?! Yeah riight, maybe when he was 15 he was borderline.
Per a current tiger I hit with he said playing time and "issues" with a coach.
Don't think this is gonna be a great up coming season for them...I'm gonna jump on the "Center has to go" bandwagon.
They should be improved. Gaining Goldhoff and Berkowitz and not losing much. I am an hour away from Austin now so I will try to go up and see the team play some of the big matches like vs Oklahoma or something during the season.
I live just north of San Antonio....less than an hour away.
Word on the street is they are going to build a new facility over by the baseball stadium, not too far away, but I'm going to miss Penick.
I will be moving into San Antonio in August for a GA position at UIW.
Tennis or Academic Related?
Then we will run into each other...I occasionally show up at UIW matches
Just to get in early before the negative comments start up again, my prediction is for a very strong year. Looking forward to saying "told you so"
Not tennis specific but it is athletic related. Tennis will be involved as well as the other sports.
And yes Rattler I will probably beat most of the matches. I will probably swing over to see a UTSA match every once in a while. To truly satisfy my tennis fix I will have to head up to Austin for a match a couple times.
UIW is joining the southland this year. They will compete instantly. CC is still the top dogs and Nicholls State isn't bad, UIW isn't too far behind immediately.
Don't forget ACU as well they will jump to the top in a hurry. Southland Men and Women will be fun to watch. To bad UIW and ACU are not eligible for Conference Title for a few years
