For years I have searched for the best tennis hat with no luck. I have shaved head and sweat like no tomorrow and play in the hottest, sunniest conditions. I have yet to find a hat that saturates sweat and end up resorting to using MANY headbands(ave. 4-5 headbands/match). I also have a big head...anyone out there found a good hat?

Genesis "play like you mean it" hat is pretty good along with Nike featherlites. The genesis I think does better with sweat. You can't buy them on TW but you can on "the other website" if you know what I mean. They're only like $8

    I'm also bald...

... and I play all year in SoCal (summer 80-95 degrees). For me, ball caps don't work anymore. I sweat right thru them - tons of sweat drips down my face. Neck exposure is a problem too.

What I do now is get a hat with a wide brim and a neck skirt. Dorky but very effective. I usually find them in Chinatown for like 7 bucks. After a month I throw them out.

The brim absorbs and dissipates all the sweat - so much so that I put it on at the start of my warm-up and forget about it for 2 hours. Sweat never drips on my face anymore. My neck doesn't get sunburnt anymore either.

Also I only get the quick-dry poly fabric. After 3 sets I go home and throw it in the sink with soap and let it soak for 20 mins. hang dry. done. Ready for the next day.

If there's a better solution for bald guys I'd love to hear it.

He said he has A BIG Head. GHOAT is not good for large domes. Adidas and Lacoste fit large heads better.

One nice thing about the Genesis hat is it fits great right out of the box. No boxy break-in period.

Best choice for tennis is the bandana.
I recently switched from using a hat to a bandana and the results are that it not only saves me from my perspiration much better ( no more sweat in my eyes and stuff ) but I also don't have to wash the hat every time I come home cause its full of salty sweat and looks dirty.

Adidas makes a Climalite Hat/Cap Size XXL
and it's definitely the GHOAT, or
at the least the one hat the fits me, absorbs sweat and stays comfortable.
It's pretty hard to find. We have 2 Adidas outlets semi close, and 95% of hats there are L/XL, I've only found the XXL twice, and I buy them all when I see them.

RF Nike Dri Fit hats are awesome. You can wash them dozens of times too and they always come out looking like new.

A bandana is great for sweat, but it doesn't do much to shield your nose and face from the sun.

I still think the best solution will be for a headband and a hat if you sweat profusely and want to keep it out of your eyes.

Agreed that while cotton bandanas soak up sweat the best, sythetic caps offer the best all round protection in sun.

I would recommend the Arrow-Up hats as they have a bulit-in terry sweatband. Kimguroo, a member here, sells them.

if someone sweat like Andy Roddick, there is no hats which can manage sweat.
My arrow-up hat has sweat band like material inside of hat so it might absorb sweat better than other hats but honestly the hat can't absorb all of it.
if you switch two or even three hats during the game, it will be much better.

I shave my head also, and I sweat like Shaq at the free throw line.

I use the Nike feather light caps, which last about 3 or 4 games before becoming saturated. I just carry about 5 of them in my bag, and switch out as needed.

So, why find THE hat? Just go for hatS...

I have a large shaved head as well and have hats from pretty much every major manufacturer. The absolute best hat I've found is the ultra light performance hat from Athletic DNA. I bought mine at TW but it looks like they only carry the other one now for some reason (It's still available at the ADNA site, though). The top is roomy and the band is a very comfortable tarry cloth. I highly recommend checking it out!

No it is a hat made by Nike that is very hard to find. Very different from featherlites. It is called Nike trend woven hat.
