Will a spring hand-cranked machine lose its ability to pull at the right tension if I left the string compressed for 2 whole days?

It should be o.k., but you should recalibrate the machine. The tension knob should always be returned to zero when you're done using the machine for the day.

    Gaines,

What can one do if the machine is no longer pulling accurately, said by more than 10 lb? Can the spring be replaced?

    Thanks, Robert

talktennis, yes, the tension spring can be replaced on the tension head on a crank machine. If you're looking for someone to do this for you, contact tennis machines, inc.
