OK i use prince pro synthetic w/ duraflex strung at 64 on my i rad os (but i'm getting new racquets). I'm thinking about switching, and i was wondering what you guys think is the best string under 5 dollars. I don't break THAT often, so it has to be durable, but not like kevlar, and i also need something hopefully with nice spin, touch, power etc. Thanks, Sam.

I think what you've got fits what you described to a T.

I think Prince syn gun duraflex is a good string for under $5 you might also have a look at Gosen Syn guts such as Courier. If you want a softer feel Alpha Gut 2000 is a decent multifilament at $6. Technifibre E-Matrix is also a nice multi if your not a string breaker.

    Why Ashaway Monogut 17?

    1. The string does not move.
    2, Generates excellent spin.
    3. Pockets the ball like natural gut.
    4. Reasonable power.
    5. Durable than Prince Synthetic Duraflex 17.
    6. It plays like Alu Power 16L minus the arm/wrist effect.
    7. Unbeatable price @ US$ 3.99.

    Downside:
Much Difficult to string than Prince Synthetic Duraflex 17.
