I tried 16g pro hurricane tour @54 lbs and that felt too stiff and underpowered for me. Do you guys think the PDR is too powerful to go as low as 45-50 lbs?
And what tension do you recommend for a poly/multi or poly/gut hybrid with this frame?

    Thanks

Do you guys think a poly/multi hybrid at 48/50 lbs will be okay in the pdr? I tried pht/vs at 54/56 and it felt too stiff until it loosened up after a few weeks.
I'm just worried that sub 50 tensions will be too uncontrollable in something powerful like the roddick

I've demoed and borrowed the PDR a couple of times and the best set up I've used with it is shockingly PHT at around 45lbs. I found I was able to hit a flat ball very hard and consistently, and got more spin than usual as well when I went for topspin. I was consistently hitting my hardest forehands with this set up. While PDR + low tension might sound like a launcher, the harder I tried to hit the better it got. I prefered the lower tension PHT over midrange. Better comfort too.

Did you try it with the lower tension?

i did a Yamaha Secret 04 which is a very high powered stick. More power than a Pure Drive which I have as well.
Strung it with Spiky Shark poly at 35 lbs.

Lots of controllable power but now more spin, and it's super playable whereas before strung with syngut in the 50 lb range it was unplayable
