I frequently use Babolat Pure Drive as my major racquet and I usually strung the OG Sheep 17G on my own racquet. Now I want to change to the Lux BB Ace 18g as main and NRG2 17G as cross. Should I lower my string tension as Lux recommand?

yiliang, what I recommend to my customers is to drop the tension by 10% if they like a softer feeling stringbed, but if they prefer a crisp feeling stringbed, then only drop the tension by 5%. I string quite a bit of ALU Power at 62 lbs..With the NRG2 in the crosses, it will feel softer than a full BB job anyway.

If I frequently strung my PD standard at 62/60, should I drop the tension to 54/60 or lower? Thanks for anyone help.

I dropped from 61/58 to 54/51 on mine with Kirschbaum Turbo Touch.

54/60 could cause uneven stress on your racket, not good.

I have tried many tensions and truly found (even with my doubts) that a drop in tension is required for me to get the type of play I want. While I am a big hitter (my doubles partner says too big because when I miss I either almost decapitate the opponent across the net or hit the fence) there are even bigger hitters out there. The harder you hit, I would think the higher you can go and still get the proper feel. I have found that the outside temp makes a big difference on ALU. When it is cold it feels much stiffer. 75-80 degrees and 54lbs is the best combination. Then go from there.
