After his emotional first ATP title win in which he dedicated to his father who sadly passed away recently and after dominating the tournament beating Seppi, Troicki and Simon along the way could his rise continue or will he continue to blow hot and cold? He's not far off being seeded for slams and that's an achievement in itself after struggling to keep in the top 100 last year.

I think his good form is due to his Davis Cup exploits just wish our British players would do the same after beating much higher ranked opposition. :(

He's 27: if he's blown hot and cold thus far, a dramatic change of form is not probable.

Doesn't matter. I will be more than happy if he beats Nadal again somewhere.

Great. Let's hope he is not a one hit wonder (although that hit was supermassive)

this indeed is more promising than winning one big match here and there. his risky style I think could take longer to perfect and his consistency has shown marked improvement. his shots are huge. they just weren't that consistent. similar game as janowicz. flat super aggressive fh. they are breath of fresh air in the current grindfest of topspin baseliners.

Its sad that talented players should be ranked 35 while the players they squash :D can be in the top 5.

Yes if it were not for Nadal losing to Rosol....Murray would have no Wimbledon Final....and no confidence to win Olympic Gold....then that escalates to no US Open.

So thank Nadal for your boy success.

    Rosol's tournament win was bigger than Nadal's, so it's 2-0 H2H. Not a fluke anymore. :)

Blame Dudeski, he posted a very controversial(pretty awesome) gif of Nadal being rosolololed. The Nadal fans came to defend their man and the true trolls emerged from under their bridge and came to destroy your thread.

    *shrugs*

Then I guess murray and roddick crying after losing wimbledon to fed is equally embarrasing? Or murray crying after 2010 ao final?

The only player that I felt nearly embarrassed herself after a slam final was. Jana novotna after choking to graf.

She had to be comforted by the Duchess of Kent herself!

Wow... this peter bodo guy is such a hater... i thought it was just a persona people used on TTW for fun, didn't realise there were actual people who had such harsh feelings for Nadal.

What does Rosol winning his first tournament have to do with Rafa?

Because rosol will forever be the guy who took out rafa in the second round of a slam for which he was a major contender.

Just like soderling will forever be associated with the 2009 FO

Apparently, he died just 10 days before Rosol won in Bucharest. Rosol dedicated his victory to him.

I respect Rosol for going for his shots. Too many lower ranked players play passively against the top guys and get their *sses whipped. Better to roll the dice and rip it if it's in your strike zone.

Laughing at the people saying 27 is too late.

Alot of times players need wins like this to start a new chapter in their game. The self belief a huge victory can like this can bring to a player as inconsistent as Rosol can be huge.

He'll also face lower rank opponents in tournaments, meaning he's gonna have a big chance to get more and more points.

He has a problematic history with Nadal, ending in his humiliation. Since then, he has been passive-aggressive about him. Bozo is a mentally sick person I think.
