Hey guys, just wanted to know if there is anybody out there that breaks strings often... EVEN these Luxilon strings that are supposed to be very durable?

I break these strings a lot. One string job will last at most 3.5hours.

I am a hard hitting 5.0 (at least my forehand is a 5.0 forehand).

Anybody has this problem as well? I Love these strings but I cant understand why they last a lot longer for other people.

    Thanks!

i hit hard and i i am a solid 4.0 but it takes me wabout 15 hours just as soon as they feel dead they break but i also use syn or natural gut in the crosses.the bb on bb is rough and may cause earlier breakage..

Well apparently luxilons are the hardest to break. Give it a try it should last you at least 1 month with about 2 hours a session, 2-3 sessions a week.

If you break Luxilon in 3.5 hours, you can try Kevlar, and try to string at a lower tension, to give better durability.

Another thing that helps ALOT is string savers ( Babolat Elastocross II), they will make your strings last much longer.

My old doubles partner used to break Kirschbaum Super Spiky 17 in about 5 hours. I finally started installing string savers in his frame when I restrung it. That seemed to help, but it wasn't a drastic imporvement.

    Thanks guys...
Yeah they break after 3.5hrs. People also say they are not supposed to move, but they move on my racket.

I actually bought string savers to see if they will help a bit.

Lioneldude... I have already tried it, this is the string I break after 3.5hrs.

Use Kevlar. I recommend the Ashaway Crossfire II. It comes in 16, 17 & 18 gauge. I would start with the 18 gauge because it plays better and if it is still breaking, drop the gauge. It should last at least a couple weeks.

Yeah kevlar is a good idea...Gamma Infinity 15L is the longest lasting string I have used...you could also try Luxilon Big Banger Original.
