Yeah, I'm pretty sure only Roddick ever used PHT. I don't think Nadal switched to RPM from Duralast until it came out. PHT hasn't been around that long, but only when Nadal switched to RPM did commentary about his new strings even in the media come about. PHT generates some decent spin, but it's just a decent one overall. RPM generates good spin, but is terrible overall. Well, that's not fair. Terrible unless you a. have your own stringing machine and b. do not pay for the string.

If you look on the first page, Jeff made a post, and he is a rep for luxilon. There was something wrong with the site, so people had to resubmit. For example, I told nadalex sign up, and he posted his original excitement on the first page

Do these Luxilon strings come from Wilson HQ? Because I got some poly that looks like BBO from Wilson HQ here in Illinois...

Received package in the mail today. Assumed it was for the Wilson playtest, but I guess not. As you can see below, this is a Luxilon product.

Appears to be a smooth, orange colored poly:

The writing on the string says: OK9093

Next post shows this is a lie.

As per my style, took macro images. This is in fact a non-twisted, faceted poly. The facets are very small, so it maybe 10-sided or so. I'd estimate string diameter (do not have calipers here) to be about 1.25mm, so I'd say this is a 16L poly. Nonetheless, check out the texture:

Will string up and hit with on Friday. Very interested to see what this string is all about. :)

I am disappointed. We live in the same town, so if you got yours, one would assume maybe I would get mine. Perhaps I didn’t get in.

Isn't there supposed to be two different strings getting shipped out?

Tell you what, if that happens, you want my set? If you were some 3.5 schmuck then I wouldn't consider it, but since I know you and how well you can hit, I'd see that to be fair.

No, that would not be fair to you. If I did something wrong to not get in the playtest, then I don’t deserve to be part of it. (Maybe there is a certain number of a post or years you have to have to be part of talk tennis to be in the playtest or something.) Beside your reviews are always very insightful and fun to read. I am leaving for break on Friday, so I have a couple of more days to see if it shows up.

    PS
I cannot say how much I love the current strings in the racquets you strung. The poly went dead a long time ago, but it still holds tension quit well. The balls are landing shorter from the poly going dead, but that means I can hit all out even more. The gut is still going well to. Lots of shredding, but not breaking so that is good, I really am starting to like stringing at lower tensions. The ball I hit feels so much more solid. Also just out of curiosity, do you know what the gut comes from? Is it really from animals?

    Thanks,
    adam

Got mine today. Looks to be the same as PV's. There's a batch number. It is 0633396122. I can't make out the writing on the string very well, but it appears to be OK9093.

I thought this was a smooth string based on touch, but stand corrected per PV's photos. I am glad it is textured, although only slightly.
