In stringing M and C at different tensions, what sort of differential seems to work best for people?

Most seem to go down 2-4 lbs. on the crosses. Yonex recommends a 5% drop on the crosses on their Isometric frames(the ones with "square" tops).

Should be no problem stringing the crosses 2 lbs. higher than the mains. Since the ALU is so much stiffer than syn gut, this adjustment makes sense from the perspective of trying to keep the feel the same.

cool thanks gaines! i thought the request was kinda wierd at first because i haven't come across anyone who would string their crosses higher than their mains.

as for personal experience with experimenting with different tensions, i string my rdx500 mids at 58 lbs in the mains and 56 in the crosses.

i've never understood the string the crosses two pounds less thing..i know the theory behind it, but cmon...does it really matter especially if you are not hybriding.....i mean..say, you string the mains at 60 and x's at 58..if you just string at 59 nobody in the universe would be able to perceive the diff and strnging the x's 2 less is not gonna win you one single extra point in a match. can understand the yonex anomoly and stringing looser w. poly of course, but the rest is just overkill IMO..this from a guy who notices small changes in his gear.
