If that fight happens, I really hope it finishes in a knockout.

IMO, Marquez was robbed in that fight against Manny.

That was absolutely incredible... probably the most artistic, beautiful and kick ass (or face, lol) in fighting history...

It trumped Silva's and Lyoto's karate kid knockouts IMO... Etim was planking when the heel kick connected... absolutely phenomenal.

BTW, didn't know this was the "official" thread to discuss MMA in this forum. :)

Here's a gif of Barboza's spinned kick KO... the way Etim was unconscious the moment that kick landed was a thing of another planet... the guy just planked there and the rest was gravity taking place.

Best KO in UFC history along with Lyoto, and Anderson Silva's kicks.

Terry Etim was unconscious for a minute but he awoke and seemed fine after a few minutes during the judges decision, just a bit confused, as one would expect.

Haha, really? I always thought I sounded and projected myself as a guy, at least when I was not making some man crushing comments on Federer in some joke threads. :)

And as expected, no Manny-Mayweather fight. This fight happening is like catching an unicorn in the mountains. Some say they may exist...

Pacquiao would own. Mayweather is too scared to fight him because he doesn't want a loss on his record.

Floyd Mayweather just lost millions of fans in Asia

What's up with Flo? Why get into a whole new trouble (as if there isn't enough of that aready) and start shooting his mouth off on J-Lin of TNYK?

Does Lin perhaps remind him of some other Asian guy? Hmmm

From his post-fight interview, Manny never saw the counter right punch coming that KO'd him. The rt that knocked him down in the 3rd rd was wicked too.

Both coming in looking for a macho a macho knockdown fight, it's not surprising they didn't see the knockout punches. Lots of strong offense, some defense, but they seem to be looking for big punches.

If it does happen now Pac will have to take a 60-40 or higher split.

But I now there is really no reason at all for Money to take this fight. The fact that Marquez has more or less owned pac since the early rounds of that first fight and the loss to Bradley means money dont want nothing to do with fighting a bumb like Pac.

Unless floyd goes more broke than he is now, he will probably not fight again

Mayweather has nothing to prove by fighting Pacquiao now and now way will Pacquiao get anywhere near the payday that he would have drawn before his previous loss.

Pacquiao's best move (if he has a next move) would be another bout with Marquez.

Mayweather was clearly concerned about Pac. I'm no Pac fan, all he offers is good head movement, a relentless pace, and a straight left, but it's that straight left that Mayweather is worried about.

Mayweathers defense is set upon his shoulder roll. You will see him lift his right shoulder and tuck his head to the right, which is exactly where Pac goes with his southpaw left.

Mayweather shoulder rolls, then comes out with hooks and rights, this again plays right into Pacs game.

So while Mayweather is the better all around fighter, styles make fights, and that is one fight Mayweather is smart enough not to take.

Oh I see, I stand corrected. Because JMM is a better counter-puncher than Floyd.

To answer your question, yes, Floyd doesn't have that kind of right hand. Floyd can hit you over and over flush and you can still walk through it.

Pac got caught, that simple. Straight right down the pike, inevitable almost considering how many times M has tried.

Exactly Mick. Floyd feared Pacquiao and ducked him for 3 years. Marquez is suspected to be on steroids as his new coach Angel Heredia was involved with cheats Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery of the track world. Heredia also openly bragged in an interview with Spiegel Sport that he knew how to create 25 drugs that could cover up PED use and make them undetectable to doping testers. Why would Marquez hire a guy like this?

And it was very strange that Marquez suddenly has this new KO power at age 39.

    Well said.

And you can add Canelo to the list of guys Mayweather will duck - at least until someone else beats him.

The latest is that Pacman can make more money fighting in Asia - no US taxes to pay. With all the New Money in the region and Macau wanting to get into the boxing biz, it's a no-brainer. The promoters don't even think he has to fight topflight guys to draw the crowds. Pacman made himself available for years; Mayweather ducked him. Now Mayweather is fighting another old, slow guy. Sad.

The most exciting part of the fight was when they showed Holyfield and there was an old drunk guy screaming "wooooooooooo!" the whole time.

    Floyd's defense is still incredible.

You fell for Mayweather's lie. Floyd has admitted to Bob Costas on national TV that he would not be pressured to face Pacquiao because he feared for his health and didn't want to end up like Ali.

He also admitted this week that he is proud of his team for "handpicking" all his opponents and he said he hopes they will continue to handpick all his future opponents.

Floyd's a fraud, he camaflouges his cowardice with lies, deceptions, excuses and faked retirements. He'll never fight Pacquiao because he knows he'd get knocked out. Pacquiao is too explosive and throws too many punches.

Funny how Floyd was afraid to face Canelo then all the sudden agreed. Could it be Canelo is in the bag? It's another Golden Boy in house fight.

Golden Boy can afford to have Canelo lose, he still has a big future. Floyd can't afford to lose, if he does, his leverage is gone. It's possible all of Floyd's fights are controlled. Very possible. Mayweather even said in an interview on Fighthype.com that he doesn't love boxing anymore like he used to "because boxing isn't real anymore."

There's got to be a reason why HBO will no longer do business with Floyd, Al Haymon or Golden Boy.
