The same racquet was on **** for $100 with no bids (I almost bid on it). Then after Safin won the AO he reposted it and it sold for alot more.

Not quite true. If I remember well the guy ended the auction early and had a reserve on it the first time. The racquet would have sold well beyond the reserve if he hadn't chickened out. All he needed was one person.

I find this price reasonable considering all the questions people have here about Safin's racquets. Tennis memorabilia is cheap anyway when you compare with other sports.

I have several rackets that I wouldnt even consider taking less than $500 for...so no, in my opinion, its not crazy. Trust me, with the right timing, exposure, etc. there are people that will pay $$$ for an actual pro frame.

Well you're kind of right. The seller started it at $100 with a buy it now for $329 and it had no reserve and no bids either. He ended it early seeing that there were no bids. I was extremely close to bidding but I decided to wait and see if there would be any other bids.

    Original **** Auction

Safin can start up business, when his career is done, and he is gone by selling his cracked frames on ****, God knows how many he broke.

If it was a Fed racquet....I dare say a few of us Talk Tennis guys could chip in so that we could discover what he's using.....what do you reckon....$2-3 from each member so that we could find out....and it could be kept at TW headquarters.

No, he ended up early when he started to get offers to buy off ****. Realized that this thing could buy him a few highs if done right.

Let him spend his money however he wants. What's it OK to spend on, tsunami relief? You'd never be able to justify a memorabilia purchase if that's the standard.
