Lundgren is going to have an interesting time of it now he's coaching Safin, instead of Fed. Forget the slightly more relaxed on court demeanour we saw at the Aussie - the old Marat was back well and truly last night going through his full repertoire. Slumped shoulders, long conversations with self, and indeed anyone that he thought might listen, kicking dust, smashing racquets ... something for everyone. He didn't play that badly but the voices were back. He was off court before Grosjean and almost refused to sign the camera lens. If I were a betting man I'd say another Head paid the ultimate price in the locker room afterwards too. It's great to have the real Marat back.

If he has to go through the full "Marat" repertoire to win a match, why deny him that privilege? Mac used to do that all the time and it seemed to help him. Marat has to decide whether releasing his frustrations will actually help him during a match, or whether his tantrums will ultimately be counter-productive. Good to see him winning again though.

Well, he never really changed i would say. In Australian he was concentrating on tennis more than ever and therefore his behavior was a little bit ubnormal. There is no way he is going to change all of the sudden, but I wish he would not tank any matches (like vs. Roddick at Indian Wells). If he keeps winning and rises in rankings, it is great for the game of tennis.
