It would be pretty funny if Stan somehow pulled of this USO, beating Nadal in the final like his bff Federer never could.

I just realized I used March in the title, which was used in the murray thread, and now I am sad.

    Stampeding Stan then.

My only worry is that if Stan stampedes into the final, then Ralph strolls to an easy win. At least Joker has a chance to strangle Raplh.

    Allez Stan the Man.

Or no Djokofan creative enough to originate Internetmania for the Serbian grinder.

No offense to the OP, but PoapJoelDali's Eagle thread is the gold standard in this category...that thread has Wings!

No offense to stringertom, but astute observance would have made clear to you, that I am not the thread artist Joeldali is, and Stan is not the material that Federer is......

I hope Stan can BUILD from this US OPEN experience, I really would love to see Stan win a grand slam one day. Novak and Rafa or Andy won't be dominating forever.

Federer finally got kicked off the pedestal, so there is a space open for someone to step up.

Man, do I miss the late 1990s to early 2000s when there wasn't this fix on the majors. I miss guys like Thomas Johnasson who shocked the tennis world winning the 2002 Australian Open. Nobody can take that way from Johnanson. We need more shock first major winners.

On the WTA Tour it still happens look at Marion Bartoli she won Wimbledon this year!

You got your wish and a DC tie win to boot! Now on to Rotterdam and Marseille, getting ready to improve on a nice '13IW attempt to beat Rogi in 4R. He'll close matches like that one now!

Stan has allegedly pulled out of rotterdam and montpellier, citing fatigue. Hopefully he gets his rest before he loses momentum. His fans are dying to see him build on his success

Wawrinka has the potential to win another grand slam, but that depends if he can maintain his level of play consistently enough.

I don't know what it is about this picture. I think it's the foundation, or maybe the Photoshop, but it's mysteriously marvellous. .....

Let's all take a solemn vow that we will start singing the riff to "Iron Man" at Stan's matches

The signal will be that someone yells out "He is IRON STAN" and then starts singing. You heard it hear first.

Why isn't this guy playing anymore? Did he use up all of his energy of the entire season in one tournament?

Curious as to what his plans are myself. He did get some new racquets from P1 delivered.

    http://twitpic.com/dw86mg

He has been doing the talk show circuit at home and in France. I haven't been able to access his site today, but it might just be normal Internet bs or they are redoing it.

Looking forward to seeing Stan in action once again.

I hope he'll be a serious threat now on a regular basis for at least the next couple of seasons at RG, US Open and AO (He won't do much at Wimbledon).
