After floundering in his first couple of tournaments back, he seems to be playing pretty well right now....

Last week in Indian Wells, he made use of his wildcard and won two matches, including one over 31st-ranked Filippo Volandri.

This week, he got a wildcard into the qualies of Miami - he beat Julien Benetteau (ranked 83rd) and Olivier Marach to get through qualies into the main draw, and now he's beaten Jan Hernych (ranked 90th) to get to the second round.

It seems like Fish is playing top-100 caliber tennis again, congrats to him. :)

Good win for Fish. I had money on Herynch but I'm happy for Mardy.

He is not going to beat Davidenko, no way. Not even on the home turf.

Even if Davydenko is vomiting all over the court, he'll still give it his all and take out Fish. Fish didn't look THAT bad in that match against Nadal. Better than I expected. Mostly it's a mental thing, he looked like a Fish out of water, like he didn't have a chance in the match despite the fact that he was holding serve.

Fish has a lot of talent, but he is a complete " head case". That coupled with his laid back attitiude, is going to stiffel any serious comeback.

Fish has a big game and if he can stay focused and keep his head together should be in the top 20. Davydenko will be a great test and i think he has a shot.

Depends what you mean by serious. If he gets into the top 50, which seems doable, that is a "serious" comeback in my mind. That puts him within striking distance of minor titles.

"Floundering" ? The Fish puns are killing me. If he just "scales" back his game a little and doesn't go for too many shots....He "hooked" Hernych in that first match...Sometimes it looks like he plays just for the Halibut....we could go on and on....

He might "catch" a few higher ranked pros off guard. Don't forget that one lol.

The fish references just come so naturally, I don't know why that is. I didn't even realize I said "a fish out of water" until after I posted, so then I went back and capitalized it.

Fish needs to go against the current and move in more often, but he can't let himself get caught up at net. He needs to show a little more emotion out there, not be so cold-blooded all the time.

At least Roddick doesn't get any dick references.
