I guess part of it is that in Atlanta we have teams feed into city finals so there is that extra layer of playoffs. So instead of needing to finish #1 out of 8 or 9 teams, we having to finish number 2 or 3 out of 8. That certainly does put far less pressure on us to wring every last point we can out of the regular season.

Well, that might be better then calling it a tie(as I've done the mistake once at 6-6 in a TB, also b/c my opponent was getting exhausted and it didn't seem fair to me to win that way, being younger. Anyhow I was the one send down from my division, arbitrarely in perfect tie on points and victories).

What do I think of a coin flip?

It depends. If I think I had less than a 50% chance of winning the match by playing it out, then I love the coin flip.

If my chances of winning the match by playing it out are greater than 50%, then I hate it.
