Tennis camp is just started and has become more intensive, alot more reps of ab workouts, sprints, pushups, etc.
Now, I was wondering if there was any sort of supplement to help me "maximize" what I am doing so I can gain full advantage to my workout. Please suggest something I can pick up at the groceries or GMC or some place like that. Thanks

i would suggest a protein powder to make shakes with. optimum nutrition makes some good 100% whey protein you could take right after your workout. i think they even make a mix to help recovery.

Optimum Nutrition 100% is your best bet.

If you weren't sure what you needed, don't buy any other supplements. Spend your money on food and things like milk and whole grains to clean up your diet.

I am generalizing that you don't eat enough of the correct foods and that your diet is going to hold you back. The most you'll get from supplements is a 10-15% strength gain and some studies suggest that things like creatine may even be bad for tennis because of the nature of our sport and how creatine acts in the body.

Before you buy ANYTHING, always read reviews (bulknutrition.com, amazon.com, google) from sites that you can trust and look at the labels. Stay away from high fructose corn syrup and the obvious trans fats at all cost. A lot of supplements are not regulated by the FDA and therefore it's up to you to be active and control/understand what, if anything, you put into your body.

I would find a good multivitamin and maybe some fish oil along with the whey protein but that's it. Don't go for NO-XPLOD like some of your friends might be! Trust me, a good diet will have you blowing by them after they level off from their 1-week burst.

Make sure your multivitamin has a serving size of more than one pill (ie you take 2-? pills for the day) because a lot of the 1 a day vitamins are terrible.

No problem! I was in your position a while ago and I'm glad that people helped me out when I asked for it.

It's going to be tempting to fall into the supplement trap especially because you might not make gains as quickly at the start. Give it time though, and everyone else will plateau and you'll steadily increase.

What are you trying to do? Just gain straight mass and get big? or cut up and stay lean?

superpump is NO and creatine isn't it? Creatine isn't really recommended per se for tennis because it might be bad for prolonged exercise. There's a reason why really good extended-effort athletes don't use creatine.

As far as the nitric oxide component goes, I don't really know either way for it about tennis. It's a vasodilator meaning it makes your blood vessels bigger. My guess is that it'll probably get you too tense and hyper to play tennis.

Well, it depends on what you're going for.

If you have a shake before bed, take it with milk so that it is absorbed less quickly from your gi tract.

If you're having it after or during your workout then you want it with water so that it gets to your muscles right away. You want to combine this with some carbs to get glycogen levels back up too.

I don't know if you'll be able to stomach the whey during practice because I don't know how hard you practice and what kind of weather you practice in. A protein shake won't really rehydrate you; you need salts and electrolytes as well as water.

I have the vanilla whey but it's pretty awful in water unless you mix it with dextrose.

Fish oil is just for omega 3 acids, reducing inflammation, and helping out your heart so follow the dosages. It won't really help you build muscle, but it's still VERY good for you and your body will thank you. Fish oil capsules are a good way to get the health benefits of fish without risking the potential harm that a fish-heavy diet causes. I recommend optimum nutrition's enteric coated softgels as well as now foods ADAM multivitamin. The pills are kind of big but they work. Always be sure to take your fish oil and multivitamin with meals or else the pill probably won't get broken down and absorbed as well as it could otherwise.

If you buy from a normal store you will get robbed blind on the price. Shoot me an email and I'll fish out (pun intended) some links for you.

Everybody's different, in my experience, taking 1 scoop of Superpump250 pre-match dialed me in, I was more focused throughout the match, more energized, etc..no side effects.
