Me no like the Babolat Pro Hurricane... :(

I give up. I bought a 16g reel of the stuff based on comments claiming how great it was, and I DONT LIKE IT! I tried it first with my old Bab Pure Storm team (zylon) and it does last a long time but then it felt dead. I thought it could be the all banged up racquets, but then I got my new Pure Storm GT, used both of the free Bab revenge 17g strings I got, which I loved. Now, back to the Pro Hurricane, geez! I feel like I have to swing really really fast to get the ball to drop and to get pop as well. I cant get the angles Im used to nor the topspin kick I really loved to give the ball, I dont feel any pocketing at all, like its very stiff. I thought it was me (maybe in part its me), but the REvenge string felt great... WTF? I dislike the string, I dont feel comfortable with it. What can I do, should I string with a lower tension maybe? (Im stringing at 57 lbs full job, thinking of going at maybe 52lbs). Should I find a hybrid that works, with a soft cross string?

Can I find love with this string or is it just that it is not that great a string to begin with? Help please!

The only thing it's got is durability. Everything else sucks.

I'd recommend multi's, or try the Luxilon M2's out. I love the M2 Plus as you can tell :]

I really like it. I put it in my mains because they are stiff and firm, then i put a soft string like natural gut in the crosses. I string lower at 53lbs. I really like this combo :)

You like M2 Plus?

If you have M2 Pros that you are not using, I can trade my M2 Pluses with you.

I've only tried Pro Hurricane in the 18g (full job) and it's not that great, just mediocre. I wasn't noticing any more spin than usual. I was thinking about trying the 17g, but I figured I would move on to another string and may try a lower gauge in the future.

Never tried hybriding this string but is there a reason why you prefer hurricane in the mains as oppose to gut in the mains and pro hurricane in the crosses?

I hate Pro Hurricane Tour. I mean, sure it lasted quite long and it did give me some more spin, but it felt like hitting with slab of cardboard!!
I love Revenge too. Great durability, and has great power while control to back it up. Only downside is its too stiff!! That's why I use it in a hybrid.

So lets see... You still got all the Pro Hurricane Tour string left. You got 2 good decisions to make.

1. You can sell what ever is left of the reel on the forum, but in the For Sale topics.

2. Try out some hybrids. Since Pro Hurricane Tour feels totally dead, try to use a lively string. Since you already like the spin, but PHT in the mains. In the crosses, put in a lively string, so you can get some kind of feel out of it. Gamma Challenger is a nice synthetic string that has great pop and feel, while still having nice performance and some durability. It's really low price too (I think about $3 a set). Try that out.
Or see if you can find another string to use.

I think OP is talking about Pro Hurricane not Pro Hurricane Tour

yup. Pro Hurricane, not Tour.

My first choice would be to try some hybrids and maybe lower tensions as well. Second choice of course would be to sell; we'll see how the thing with the hybrids go. Well, I think I got duped, I thought I got a great deal for the reel, thats why I rushed into buying it without trying it first. Shows me huh?

Probs what you get for buying a reel on what others say before trying it.

thanks for tellin me what I already know.....

I got a great deal, got the 660' reel for about $60, insted of $160.

anyways, now I have it, so, maybe you and others can offer advice on options I have, besides selling, like what to hybrid it with, etc....

Well. Try hybrid it with a syn gut cross, that's your first thing, it's the most basic hybrid. If that's too stiff still, try the syn gut in the main and poly cross. Then give a multi cross and poly main a go, etc etc.

I have always been told to put the tougher, more "catching" string in the mains. I put gut in the crosses because it gives it a nice feel and play. It's all about personal preference

how does the Pro Hurricane compare to the Cyberflash and Cyber Blue strings? Ive had my eye on those reels cause of the price, mainly, but also cause of good comments saying how its 'similar' to Luxilon. I loved Bab Revenge 17g, but too pricey, anything similar to that one?
