    Wimbledon Vets 2007 Video

Here's one point that my wife recorded. Just thought i'd share the awsome experience of finally making it to playing at Wimbledon, even if it is as a veteran!! I won the match 6-1, 6-2 and went out in the quarters 6-4, 6-3 to the #2 seed who is still ranked 1365 in the with 2 ATP tour points.

I hope that the link works!

Thanks for the thumbs up guys. It was an amazing experience. Alan Mills was the ref and there were no chair umpires until later rounds, the thinking was that we're old enough and ugly enough not to hook each other on calls. It was actually true, really nice guys and not many huge egos!
The road to get there was a long one. Starting competing again 2 years ago to get my british ranking up high enough so that i could get straight in and didn't have to qualify, which i did, the point that is shown was against a qualifier. I got the wife to take as many photos as possible as you never know if you'll be there again!! Then in December last year 3 hours of shoulder surgery, which went well.
I'm 34 years old but as this is my 35th year i'm eligable for vets events and if you go to the ITF website there are loads of events all around the world. Next year i'm planning on doing a little travelling with some friends to play some...if i can get a pass from the little lady;)
The standard is really good, next week i'm playing main draw at a grade 2 ITF at Eastbourne on the courts where they hold the WTA event.
