Memphis has not had streams for the last few year untill semis I think
Melzer just lost a crapload of points, going from champion in 2012 to 1R loss this year.
good tommy boy.
and now the guru dolgopolov..
I need Dolgopolov to win to complete my $500 parlay. That's usually a recipe for disaster.
damn, very possible
what did u do!?
This is ridiculous that I can't watch this match.
Sock is serving for the match!!
big win for sock...not a good follow-up by milos
I can't believe you actually made money betting on The Dog. Congrats.
Raonic seems quite overrated (as are most youngsters here...), but already he seems to have a tendency to just flop against people he should be straight setting with ease.
Did anyone see the match? If so, was Sock just playing amazing or did Raonic give it to him?
i almost got whiplash from sunday putting him back on my pedestal as the young guy to really watch and then this happens...every time it does, or any of the other youngsters flops just when you think it's time for them to rise, i keep wondering if fed's quarterfinals streak at majors will be alive in 2020
there was no stream...sock saved 8 of 9 break points...he only had 3 on raonic's serve but won 2, but the rest of the stats suggested sock just outplayed him...should know more today...it happened so late there's still not much out there about it yet...no quotes from the players i've seen
He seems to play poorly against people he should beat but step up against the higher ranked players! He has a winning record v Murray, has played Federer and John tough last season too!
Difference in total points won was like 5 - very tight - Sock was "on" on his service return and managed the 2 breaks - if you look at the point breakdown it was really close and both were over 80% on 1st serve pts won (82 and 84%) and dead even on 2nd serve pts won (47 and 46%) and on return pts won again they were dead even on both 1st and 2nd serves (18 and 54% vs 16 and 53%) - even the ace and double fault count even at 11/7 and 12/6.
Looking at the total pts won on serve and return Sock was at 67% and 32% and Milos 68% and 33% - can't get closer than that.
It all came down to the two break points - very close match
Raonic has learned how to tank. He won last week, saving strength for IW. Had to make sure to get the appearance money first, though.
Bad loss by Raonic, but not a big deal in the bigger picture. He's at the stage where if he's going to be a legit "next big thing" and not just be a dangerous, very good tour player, he has to start making some runs in Slams. That would make me look at him differently. Loss to Sock sucks, but I still have the exact same overall view of Raonic and his abilities. I guess IW and Miami will provide some bigger stages to see what he can do against a top-level field.
Disagree with the thought on tanking......you don't fight to 7 - 5 in the third set and bag it.
Interesting on the appearance fee.......here in Houston in April we will have Monfils, The Bryan's, Verdasco and Alamgro (I believe Isner in as well) all getting $$$$$ to show up......will be fun to see who makes it to the semis.
At the moment, his losses are standing out to me much more than his wins - losses to Muller, Querrey, Dimitrov, Fognini and now Sock all since that Tokyo win. And no really impressive wins in that time.
I'm being pretty harsh on him, but I think talk about him being top 5 in the next year or so are a bit runaway.
Oh, he nearly got a win against Isner. I take it all back then
Simon match is like a WTA match at the moment. Nobody can hold serve lol.
Isner was the first man in 9 years to beat Federer in Davis Cup play last year, add to that he is the the only man in 3 years to beat Djokovic in Indian Wells or Cincinnati, given this, I would say that for an emerging talent like Raonic, being able to play John tough is an encouraging sign/
Ark tends to defend all the overrated players. Don't mind him. We'll base our statements on facts and he can base his on fantasy.
I twitted to Raonic to go to Dubai. Let's see if he does it. He needs 500s.
Maybe Raonic was tired from his title win just last Sunday (?) at San Jose and Sock took advantage. Either way, well played Sock.
Certainly, he may have to next year. Rotterdam and Dubai will be the only 500s available to play this time next year as Memphis is being downgraded to a 250.
He lost in Tokyo as well. I still think he doing better than the guys at the same age or below. So it not like he is terrible.....maybe not living to the hype but still at least he can be considered unlike Dimitrov who just reaches an occasional Semi in 250's.
Do you mean this year or next? I don't think it makes much sense this year going halfway around the world for one tournament and only having a few days to recover from jetlag, then coming right back to IW for a tournament the following week. He's better off resting and saving his energy for IW/Miami, events where he's under-achieved the last couple of years and where he could regain some of the ranking points lost in Memphis (he could fall to #17-18 after this week). Realistically, Miami is probably too slow for him to do damage against the top guys, but I think he'd have at least a decent chance against almost everyone except maybe Djoker at IW.
This is exactly the type of losses that gives me doubts about Raonic's potential. I agree he should go to Dubai. He might get a chance to play Murray
definitely close, probably reached on outplaying him, completely...number of break points certainly indicates raonic had his opportunities
He lost to Federer last year at IW and withdrew from Miami giving Andy Murray a walkover win. Not sure I'd call that underachieving.
He didn't have many "bad" losses in 2012. He just hasn't had a big breakthrough yet.
Dolgo just lost the 2nd set to Rhyne Williams somehow. 0 for 8 on break points.
Cilic has not had a break point on Sijsling's serve but won the first set tiebreaker. Now, he is down a break to Sijsling (I know it's crazy) somehow in the 2nd.
Not this year, he won't! 8)
Cilic escapes what would have been a terrible loss. Incredible match it was.
Querrey has got to be kidding.
Nice overrule ump
Nice choke Querrey. So embarrassing...against Matosevic too.
That ball boy looks about 6 years old
Oh sammy sammy sammy
Querrey shouldn't even be allowed to play tennis anymore after that performance. Just cost me $1500.
is there a TV coverage of this today ?
Yeah finally some live streams.
Hey, I downloaded this App from LiveScore hunter.com and it seem to work sometimes and sometimes it freezes. but it does have lots of ad popups. Was this a mistake to download this app ???
