It just is a meaningless exhibition.

You had a great HC season . Now rest up and come back with fire for the AO.

Rankings don't matter , who cares if you dip in the rankings . The main thing is to win that AO.

Everytime you rest you comeback stronger than ever . So take a load off , kick back and recharge your batteries .

I'd be OK with that, too. I'd much rather he add another AO to his resume than a WTF.

Me too...I just wish he ends the season right now..No 1 is a biitch. Once Nadal becomes no 1 or senses it, he will play relentlessly until he gets injured (touch wood). But even for not no 1, he always plays every tourni when he is healthy...
I wish he starts picking and choosing parts of calender and extend his career to 4-5 more years

If I was his fan, I would be crushed. Many of all time great - Borg, Lendl, Agassi, Sampras, Federer, Mac, Connors, Edberg, Becker...all have won the WTF. As being one of all time great, it's not fun being left out in the dark.

More than skipping WTF I want Nadal to make a deep run at Wimbledon next year. Its wishful thinking on my part considering current events but maybe with the right draw he wont get any players inspired to get Rosol/Darcis fame.

O yeah, the guy wins I don't know how many matches in a row and now he should skip one of the most important tournaments to rest up for the AO, which is TWO MONTHS later!?

Great advice. Rafa, please make up some excuse about back pain or something. Make up the money in some exo in China or Japan.

Real men don't play round robin format. Give some poor guy a chance.

You are already the GOAT, and a second AO will put you way over your so-called rivals.

Some of your buddies are worried. Its understandable since health is the only thing that can keep Nadal from winning stuff.

Me too but he does not have the same style of game as Fed.....

Nadal needs rest. It been the pattern ....

Just take a look at 2008-2009-2010......same pattern as today.

He should take the next three months off . It's a well earned rest.

The WTf won't effect his AO performance one way or the other so no use in freaking out about it.

Besides that he has wanted to win this tournament for years badly and did make the final once.

He'll probaby play a few real exho's on hards too knowing Nadal.

Agreed. This season has already been a major triumph. He should come back fresh for the Oz. He would be in dominating form, if he does that. He's already played and won enough tournaments for the year.

You're probably right, but I wish you weren't.

It's not so much I think from a physical aspect, although that factors in as well. The mental and emotional rest would be good. That's why I wish he'd skip it. Soak in this year, his comeback, and let it all settle in. Then, in January he would be fresh and motivated.

Right. Another reason that he needs to skip it. Next year he's going to have a lot to defend. I want him rested and ready to compete.

I would hate to have any Federer fan who has TDK mentality. Because skipping the WTF is a cop out. It's tough but one should never back away, especially if you're consider one of all time great.

Winning the WTA won't change Nadal's place in the history of Tennis. If he wins one in the future, it will be icing on the cake.

Its a best of 3 and Nadal actually plays fantastic against Djoker and Murray there especially in 2010. Dont see why he couldnt. It has to be less taxing than playing in the humidity of Miami.

    Ignore this

Remember that is is only some people in this forum who think it is a 'meaningless exhibition'. All players and all journalists think it is a prestigious event.

Will Rafa sow up the year 1 number 1 ranking if he misses the WTF? He probably will regardless....but probably leaving a little to chance by not competing.

Rafa likes setting historical records. He, Courier and Wilander are the only ATP YE number 1's who haven't won the WTF. I think he wants it very much.

No one really cares about it . Most people don't even know what it is . Fed has 6 of them ? No one cares .

Yeah you have one quote from joker just as the tournament is coming up.....that's called promotion for the big circus event.

No one really cares ..... It's fun to watch but so
    Is a circus .

I think Rafa would do pretty well in the womens tennis association .

I think your talking about the WTF ? Don't worry everyone screws up
The name. Most people never heard of it .

It's an over paid round robin Allstar exhibition........ I think they even have a smoke maker as the players enter the court .

Nadal should just skip it and win the AO.

I have to agree with TDK.

I always watch it but it a useless event. they have been trying to save it by moving it around. that is also why they throw a lot of money at these players.

It's best out of 3 sets after all, so he won't have any problem beating players like ferrer or djokovic even if it's indoors

Winning the WTF isn't anywhere near as important as winning the AO or any major for that matter.

He'll probably still be #1 even if he skips it, but knowing Rafa, he'll be motivated to try and win it for the first time. He's high on confidence at the moment and I seriously doubt that playing 5 matches in Nov is going to burn him out for the next season.

Once is misspelling twice is that you just don't know the name of the tournament.

But it's ok....most people don't kniw what itnis either. No one really cares about it.

I bet you wouldn't spell wimbledon correctly though or how about olympics ?

Then he should play and should expect to win easily too, right? Almost with eyes closed, yes?!!!
Is it ironic but I sense some kind of fear that losing at WTF this year will almost throw everything Rafa has accomplished so far this season. Is it why his fans urge him to skip this exho?
