    Now, about 8 minutes.
In college, never worst than mid 5's for 6 miles. If I couldn't do that pace, I'd have no time for a shower and that 15 minute walk to my next class.

7th grade was the last time I got PE class, so 1/2 miles, usually around 2:15's and miles around 6 minutes.
Better, 50 yard dashes never ever worse than mid 5's. Always 1st in class for 5 yard 8 shuttle runs.
As a 8th grade long jumper, usually mid 16's for most events, best 17'6" for all city's.

    Best time was 5:20 @185bs. Last time I ran a mile I did it 6 flat @ 205lbs two days before I did a 106mile bike race.

I've never been a serious runner, during football season sophomore year in high school I got a 5:59. I ran 3 miles in 18:02 though this year(Senior in high school).

Mile times can mean something for overall conditioning, but I suspect a shorter distance like 7 yard blocks is better for rating physical fitness for tennis. Tennis is all about starts and stops, very little continous running in one direction.
Worst 50 yard time ever, 5.5. Best, 5.2. But hand held stopwatches make for little real accuracy. This was cleats and helmet, grass field.

Maybe you have fast twitch short distance muscles that are better for tennis than marathon long distance muscles.
Tennis is all fast twitch, as you can rest between points calling for the towell and water breaks, injury and pee breaks.
Don't worry about you mile time, worry instead about your ability to cover the whole court and continue to the next point. You can play till you sweat like a pig, but hopefully, you're not playing completely winded and breathing fast and hard.

I ran the 50m with times of 5.8, 5.9, 6.1. No helmet, cleats
or starting blocks. This was done as a warmup 15 minutes
before my pro tournament Q tourny. I made the 3 round Q
and was 1 point from making the main draw. Then the
next day I warmed up my arm for the NFL walk-on tryouts.
Was making EASY 120 yard throws and kicking 83 yard
field goals at the intersection of 5th and pine. I didn't have
anyone to practice throwing to, so I'd use cars as receivers.
Just wait until they get ahead and then chuck the ball
down the street and nail the car in the back windshield.
Always aim for the back windshield b/c the angle of the glass
will make the football ricochet back to you. This soon became
too easy. Cars are big targets. So I'd wait until rush hour when
all the cars were at a standstill. Every once in a while
impatient motorcycles would weave through the traffic to get
ahead (and also keep their air cooled engines from overheating).
I'd wait until the got about 12 car lengths from me and then
tagged them with a throw. I was at about 63 % accuracy.
Probably still too low for NFL caliber accuracy, but you never
    know. Was all set
for the tryouts but crashed my unicycle on the way home
and tweaked my arm and sprained my kicking ankle.
Missed the tryouts. I started swimming while rehabbing my
ankle and Mike Spits saw me and couldn't believe the giant
wakes I was creating while swimming. Using a hand
stopwatch he had me at just a hair under 20 for the
freestyle. With a little training he said I could make the
Olympics. Having never swum before I was excited with my
new found love. The next day i went for a swim in the
ocean. As I was about to catch a wave, I saw a giant
45 foot great white coming at me. Luckily I was a fast
swimmer. Probably more luck than antyhing. It missed me
somehow and snatched the surfer girl next time. Luckily it
didn't kill her, but it did tear off an arm. After that incident,
I got a severe case of hydrophobia. Couldn't stand large bodies of water
anymore. I heard Mr. Spits waited for me all day the
next day. I never showed. I still liked seafood, so I decided
to start a shrimp farm. That's like, I guess. Just the way
    the ball bounces sometimes.

I always aimed for the front windshield posts, as that would bounce the ball back to me. Rear is going away.
I really can't swim hardly at all.
Did you wear anything for your 50 times, or go buck naked?
Beth is a nice girl, leave her alone.
And I'll BET I can surf better than you. I still have 5 surfboards, even thos I haven't surfed in almost a year.

Oops, sorry. got too off topic. Not sure of my mile time.
Was on the way to a 4:10 time but got my feet tangled with
this girl that was running barefoot. I went flying and landed
on a rosebud. Oh, the 4:10 was for my 400 time. So x4 or so
    to get my mile time.
