I usually call em right. I can guarantee you that Condit will lose to GSP when they merge the titles. GSP will win by decision as Carlos has a bad habit of running away from good fighters.

Diaz is such a punk. Threaten to quit after you get pounded on for 25 minutes. No way he carries through with that. And while it was a close fight, he very clearly lost, in my opinion. His face definitely lost anyway.

+1. Close fight but he should realize leg kicks count - it is called Mixed Martial Arts after all. His fault he couldn't come up with a Plan B.

I think Fedor is the federer of mma. Vanderlei is Safin or Rafa and Shogun is Djoko.
Anderson Silva could be... Cant think of anyone actually :)

    What's your opinion?

No just no. Diaz clearly won rounds 1, 2, and 5. He hit Condit with more head and body shots not baby leg kicks. 5th he got the takedown, took his back, and should've subbed him but wasted time going for the rear naked instead of the arm. Condit won the 4th and the 3rd is a tossup

Tell that to Shogun in his first fight against Machida

I gave it 3 rounds to 2 for Condit. He robbed the fans of what should have been an exciting fight, though. He calls himself a warrior because of how he fights, then he comes in with a gameplan to win on points and never looking to finish the fight.

^^^ Exactly, very dissappointing, stick and move, stick and move and evade. Good strategy but not very fun to watch.

Nick should've made the adjustment to cut off the lateral movement better, turn it into more of a brawl, and more ground work. But he didn't, now he's either out or down the line.

Diaz tested positive for weed again, that's why the rematch is off. Gracie said there is an "issue" and the NSAC said someone from 143 tested positive for a banned substance, just put 2 and 2 together. Good job Nick, keep smoking joints to mess up your career.

In all fairness it was smart. Diaz just wants to stand and throw punches in volume and when guys dont do that he looks pissed off. MMA and street fighting are two different things and Diaz doesnt seem to get that. I think he is a tough fighter but not a smart one at all and Condit made the right call on how to win that fight.

Its not great for the UFC to have decision hunters at all but at the end of the day this is a sport and winning is everything.

    I agree.

And after watching that I have no desire to see Diaz face GSP. GSP would just copy condit except he would make it look easier.

Not sure how good Condit is gonna do either but i think he will have the better shot. Diaz got overhyped because he is a pot smoking bad boy and the teenage boys get behind him. I wouldnt consider him a top WW at all at this point and question how he would do against the wrestlers at 170. I think Koscheck, Fitch, and a few others out point him because they wont stand in front of him and try to throw punches. I also think Alves would beat him. His striking to me seems more explosive and much more dangerous than Diaz.

With that said not sure how condit wins over GSP. Its a fight so it can happen but GSP is just so complete that he could almost pick how he wins the fight. I just hope he doesnt aim for 5 rounds of lay and pray like he seems to be enjoying lately.

I never been a huge fan of Diaz.

I was kinda hoping they would have made the boxing match he threatened to do becuase UFC wasnt paying him any money. Which will probably be 40% less money after NSAC penlizes him. Anyway I was hoping he was gonna box becuase as though he is a good boxer in MMA he sucks as an actual boxer liek all thsoe MMA guys do.

The HWs have a chance becuase the KO power, but they are not boxers. Randy Couture was smart and didnt want to get clipped by Toney.

Tim sylvia was not smart and got blasted.

MMA guys cant box with boxers.

Just like Boxers cant MMA with MMA guys.

    Also,

I expect a 5rd GSP decision against Condit. GSP dont take chances anymore. He will do evrything in his power to prevent another Serra situation.

Awesome main event, wish it was 5 instead of 3. Jake was gassing so Diego probably would've finished him if it went longer. Also should've been aggressive from the start, Jake was way too cocky for his abilities. Aw well, neither him nor Condit are beating GSP anyways

Yea man. Showtime destroying j-lo wasn't a surprise to me at all. Everyone calling it fight of the year potential was crazy to me, j-lo's overrated. He beat a nobody then subbed Guillard who gets subbed by bjj white belts

Hioki was good but Aldo will destroy him, won't even be a good fight.

I thought Akiyama could've gotten his decision. He did more damage, Jake just threw pillow punches. Either way that fight sucked.

Okami should've finished it in the 2nd. He had an armbar but let it go for gnp, which failed him. We all saw what happened next, epic comeback.

Hunt showed how weak Kongo's chin is again and his post fight interview brought the lulz.

Rampage coming out to Pride was epic and made me believe he was going to destroy Bader. Rampage didn't even seem interested in the fight except for the slam. He'll retire soon, his heart isn't in the sport anymore.

I could've seen the title fight going either way but I had Bendo winning 4-1. Frankie only really won the first imo, Bendo did more damage and attacked more in the last four. Either way great fight and hope they do it again someday

Rampage 5# over at the weigh-in made Bader question whether Jackson took the fight seriously.

Pretty good card and new LW champ Bendo!! Dude won for sure and looked like he coulda gone a few more rounds.

Rampage didn't do much except 1 good slam.
Hunt was a beast, Kongo can't take a punch.
Shields>Akiyama, not a great fight, basic decision.
Tim Boetsch come back KO was awesome!

Thats all i saw cuz i was on the court!
Bring on MMA babes Rousey vs Tate !

Two cards on Friday and Strikeforce has some guys I'm actually interested in fighting on it.

    UFC on FX
Alves def Kampmann via 2nd round ko
    Benavidez def Urushitani via decision
Johnson def McCall via sudden victory (lol would be cool to see that) more likely 1st round ko
Not really familiar with the other fighters besides Rosa, will still watch the fights for entertainment

    Strikeforce
Rousey def Tate via decision if this goes to one then everyone wins lol
Daley def Misaki via 3rd round ko
    Noons def Thompson via decision
Smith def Sayers via 2nd round ko

Ryan Couture is also on the card, haven't seen him fight yet. Can't wait to see Noons back in action and hope he wins so he and Melendez fight. After that Melendez should go to the UFC since no one else can compete with him. Hopefully Noons gets a UFC contract too so he and Diaz (when his dumbass comes back from suspension) can make it a trilogy.

Flyweight fights were fun but kind of laughable since they're so small. Wish they would go back to the old weight classes
    Heavy 205 and up
    Middle 183-205
    Welter 161-183
    Light 161 and down

Pumped for tonights fights though, pretty solid card for another organization outside the UFC

I like the current weight classes, with the exception of the heavyweights. I think there should be a be weight class from 230 up. Cruser weights or super heavyweights, etc. The gap between a small heavyweight and a large on is very large.

I dont like the 15 lb weight jumps or the 20 lb between 185 to 205. if they got it to ten lbs I would like it more. I know it doesnt sound like much but having a 160 for guys like Sanchez and Penn would really make them much more competitive. As of now they are to small for 170 and the cut 155 is to much.

Daley forgot how to fight, wtf was he doing going for 7 takedowns? It was laughable that that was even a split decision, he clearly lost.

Noons-Thompson sucked. KJ forgot the basics of scrambling to get up and Thompson just laid and prayed. Hilarious when he admitted it in the post fight interview.

Smith ran into that choke. That fight looked fixed, and it wasn't even that tough to get out of. Don't know wtf happened there.

Jacare showed some sick bjj, still was against a new comer so idk how to judge his form against that.

I hate women's sports and think they're pathetic since the skill level is so much below mens. That being said the grappling was sick last night. So happy Rhonda won (Diaz fan here) so watching her pretty much break Tate's arm was sick. Tate's a warrior though, most men would've tapped on the first and def on the second.

the not tapping was dumb to me. she was not getting out of that it was on really tight so not tapping just cost here a few months of training waiting to heal. I love Rousey saying she didnt care that she broke it. I agree tap out and it wont get cranked. I really dont think it makes you a warrior as much as foolishly thinking you can power your way out of a secured in hold.

WMMA just has no depth so there is only a small group of women that can actually fight at a decent level. Maybe that will change as the sport grows but I doubt it.

Tapping is done for a reason. Careers end on those breaks. I give her credit for wanting to win badly but she might have just lost her career depending how bad it is.

Maybe Rousey will have some more sucess and get the Female Judo worl to switch over to MMA after the olympic paths or done.

She is pretty much laying the foundation.

Hmm, seems like I have some good fights to catch up. Canceled my subscription to pay-per-view a couple weeks ago, but I wish I could see Diaz vs Condit and Benzo vs Frankie.

I like Benzo's smooth style, the guy is a great athlete and one of the best fighters to transit from WEC to the UFC, glad that he won the lightweight belt, though at the expense of Frankie after his epic comeback against Maynard.

@T1000: Is "showtime" Anthony Pettis? Seems like I will have to pick that one too.

Some great fights that I missed this year, add in the Diaz bro vs "The Cowboy" Cerrone.

Will try to tune in for the next big events, Nate Diaz vs Miller looks promising, Kosheck and Palhares in the card as well.

Edit: Was checking Sherdog.com. they changed their website from the last time I visited. Seems like there is a event in Sweeden with little Nogueira even before and after this one Rashad will finally get his title shot against Jon Jones in the next event on april.

Jon Jones scared the **** out of me when he downed Lyoto, so I will go with Rashad on this one... if Rashad can't stop Jones, I think he will be up for a long period of dominance at light heavyweight, just like GSP and Silva on weltherweight and middleweight.

Lesnar has fought only in UFC. Nowhere else.
That's back in the day in Pride FC and that's the Russian Sergei Kharitonov, who knocked out Overeem in the rematch in 2007 (IIRC)

I agree with all of these, although I hope Koshcheck loses. He is such a *****.

A couple years back I actually met Jim Miller's childhood best friend (heck of a nice guy by the way). He told me how laid back he and his brother were growing up and how they haven't changed when he sees them today. Apparently they haven't let there growing fame get to their heads which is why I ALWAYS root for them now :p

come on dude, everyone knows that's Rothwell-Schaub in that gif, not overeem-kharitonov :) I mean, do you see a black guy in there beside Herb Dean? Just watch the butterflies.

you need to look at the clip Shangri-La asked about
and yes, the clip you posted is the rematch where Kharitonov KO Overeem as I mentioned

the whole thing with testosterone is a bunch of BS
all you gotta do is get a doctor note and it's legal
Dan Henderson, Rampage, Marquardt, Sonnen just to name a few are doing it.
Pretty soon they'll all have doctor's notes.
what does it tell you when a guy in his 20s or 30s on testosterone replacement therapy? it's BS.

Doctor note or not they should ban it, period. If you're on testosterone replacement therapy, you cannot fight.
But if one guy can legally use it because he got a doctor note, then make it legal for all to use it. Make it a level playing field.

I know Henderson and Rampage have never failed a test though.

The testosterone is to replace what the body wont naturally produce. If TRT is done properly like Dan Henderson does it then there is no issue.
