It looks like everything is back to normal with him now. He's wearing the latest gear instead of the old crap he was rocking in madrid and he's got a matching bag and racket.

i thought his Head racquet was 93sq in. Isn't the headsize of the prince classified as 95 sq in, or is his mold different?

I saw a couple pics (go the master series Paris website through www.atptennis.com) . Under photos. his doubles match, you can see him hitting with the racquet but not see through the holes. All blacked out. I think its painted on for the time being. Not the first time a paintjob does something like that. Remember the flexpoints Head. They did the same for that as well.

I dont think so. There have been many pics of Monfils using the blacked out version of this racquet with clear evidence of the holes. He ditched head and is really using the new Prince 95 Rebel with speedports. I went to the website and looked at his doubles pics. There is only one pice showing the edge of the frame and it is too far away and blurry to say those are a pj. Plus the pics show that the head shape is obviously the new Prince racquet.

True, the flexpoint's pj did a good job of creating that illusion.

I have posted Pictures and Full Specs of the new Prince Rackets

    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=225890

I was pretty sure weeks ago that monfils was going to Prince, it was just a matter of when he was going to reveal the PJ of his blacked out stick.

Flexpoints were so tiny they could be PJed. Not so with the speedports.

Am I th eonly one who thinks that the beam of the racket Monfils is holding, is way too thick to be a Prince rebel?

that bigger head size seems to be really helping him. He is going to be real threat to Nadal next year the French open. If you are Nadal, you will lose some sleep over this one.

Thicker means more power. kind of power Nadal can't handle.

Glad to hear that.. I tend to think that he's using an O3 speedport (black) What do you think?

I don't know. Apart from the POG, I'm not familiar with Prince racquets. I can understand changing to a different manufacturer with a similar racquet -- Kblade to Prestige -- but changing when the new racquet utilizes a rather unique concept would seem strange to me.

Are racket companies allowed to do that? I recall that Blake tried very hard to use a Prince when he signed with them, but he did not put a Prince stencil, nor did he paint his racket to look like a Prince. He played with a blacked-out racket for quite a while before he gave up the contract and went back to Dunlop.

if you look at any pics it shows holes. why would he use a racquet the past 2 weeks that clearly had holes and all of a sudden switch when he went on contract? there is no such thing as transparent paint to fake holes. if you dont recall the whole blake incident the reason why prince never painted his racquet nor have him stencil is because they wanted an actual prince frame in his hands. but guess what? he didnt like the racquets and both decided that it was best just to go seperate ways

But Blake's blacked-out racquet had "Prince" printed on the side of the beam even though it was a Dunlop.

Is there a better picture, cause I don't see light through the holes. Especially the second picture where you would think the holes would be transparent (showing the crowd behind him). I dont see it. In fact It looks like he added hi signature lead (Over holes?).

Still think its a PJ. A good one, but a paintjob nonetheless. Nothing surprising.

    ^^^I don't see them either.

In regards to the "painted hole theroy", NBMJ is a very strong advocate on the boards regarding racquet companies "painting holes" in frames. Perhaps he will chime in.

I feel the opposite. I think watching him play yesterday he was a level below what he has done with the Head. Maybe an adjustment period yet but he did not look at crisp as he has been. I think he has quite a bit of work before he is a serious threat to Nadal on clay.

the holes were definitely there on the blacked out frame, but the yellow paint scheme makes it too hard to tell anymore.
or maybe he has the string hole inserts in?

While watching one of his matches earlier this week, the camera was on him during a changeover while he was applying a new overgrip. The holes in the racquet were clearly visable as he was spinning the racquet. Looked like a real Prince to me.

He played the first 4-5 games perfectly against Nadal in their match but wilted afterward.

He hit a 106 MPH forehand from 5-6 feet behind the baseline too!

I remember he was using a mid size racquet when he was with Head but from looking at this racquet it looks more like a mid plus anywhere from a 95-100. I will admit, Monfils plays much better with a mid plus.

The new Rebel has more of an oval shape than most Prince racquets...many people are saying it's still a Head. The O3 Tour Hybrid and the Speedport Tour both have a similar head shape to this new stick.

The O3 Tour Mid also has an oval shape. I bet the Rebel is very very similar. Both similar in weight, balance and same head size. The Rebels 18x20 string pattern is a significant difference though. Can't wait to try these out.

Can anyone tell if he's using the grommet inserts or not? I'm not really sure from the pics, but the ports look yellow and i know that the inserts are yellow, but maybe the ports are yellow even without them?
