It must be Davydenko - brings very little to the game though he goes about it with efficiency..

I'll agree to that. At least his brother/coach seems to be having a good time in the stands---laughing at Nicoly's mishits and taunting him when he is down. Bizarre.

    Roddick.

Either a huge serve that wins the point out right, or a poor error from the ground if he gets into a rally.

He is very one dimensional, at least Davydenko is consistent and you can see him constructing a point and working for his win.

Roddick has no backhand and a poor forehand of late, volleys? well what volleys.

He just hasnt improved and evolved unlike players like Federer, Nadal, Nalbandian etc..

The only time I watch him is if he is playing someone who I enjoy watching, or if I fancy a good laugh.

Yes roddick is the most boring, davydenko is okay but he is kind of a boring overachiever plus he is kind of bald and not a rebel.

Roddick isn't boring at all. Atleast he didn't used to be, his energy he brings makes up for the one dimensional game.

Also, whoever says Nadal is boring must not be watching the same tennis match. I don't care if you like him or not, but he is without a doubt the most exciting player to watch play the game right now (with exception to Fabrice of course ;)).

Stepanek plays s&v, thats the opposite of boring. Roddick's game may not be too thrilling but atleast he keeps the spirits up by losing his temper and making comments to the crowd or umpire.

1 min in between points. And the same strat and shot every single point. Really effective but not much fun to watch. I found myself fast forwarding through the french final for most of it. With so much time inbetween points i cant get into the match.

But by far mary pierce is the worst. She is nadal with no consistency, at least nadal serve's a high percentage so he doesnt take another 30 secs if he misses.

Davydenko is the one player I cannot stand to watch unless he's playing someone I like.

It becomes horrendus tennis to watch whenever he is playing.

Most boring player would be someone like Goldstein or Spadea. I actually will get bored with any tennis match unless there is someone interesting playing. If it's a clay court match between 2 unknown South Americans bashing the ball back and forth, I'd pay money not to watch it.

I think Agassi is ridiculously boring. He just stands in one place and moves his opponent across the court with his groundstrokes. It's kind of funny watching them scramble for about 5 minutes, and then just gets repetitive.

Agassi vs. Sampras however, is a totally different story.

Davydanko. One big yawn. And I'd put Hrbaty, Volandri and Lubo on that list. And Henman, Not so much his game, but I find him to be as dull as dishwater.

The sad fact is that there are very few top 10 players that are fun to watch. Which is probably why I always enjoy watching matches on the outside courts at tournaments.

    My vote goes to Hewitt.

    The Hewitt game never varies:

Hit crosscourt on every ball, ad-infinitum until the opponent gets bored and..
    A. Hits a winner
    B. Makes an error
    C. Comes to net and probably gets lobbed or passed

The only thing remotely interesting about Hewitt is that he can be so belligerent and irritating.

Honorable(?) mentions: Schuttler, Coria, DavyD, Spadea, Murray, Nalbo

nadal's game is very boring to me. hit, run, hit, run...... blahhhhhh. roddick's game is also boring as many stated above. the only time his game gets interesting is when he decides to approach the net after a weak BH slice.

B..but..I love watching Hewitt Nalby and Coria :| .

My vote goes to Rusedski, it's funny laughing at his towels offs at first but then it just gets far too repetitive  . Seriously he must have set the record for most towel-offs in a match, and to top it off his game is boring when he finishes toweling off! (of course the toweling off is longer than the majority of the points he plays.)

    Agreed.
    Also, Moya playing bad is...unwatchable.

I don´t agree on Stepanek and Hrbaty, although the latter is machine-like ala Davydenko.

Is it verboten to suggest Agassi? He's been around forever, and I'm just not buying what he's selling anymore. Great player, arguably a legend (and yes, it IS arguable), but I can't think of a player I'd rather see less if I were to have one ticket to a US Open night session this year, and yet you just know the USTA ...

Among them, maybe Chela, but is he in top 32?

I went to the Australian Open this year and saw some great matches, many of which featured your so-called boring players. In fact one match that stuck in my memory was Davydenko coming back from 2 sets down against Hrbaty in Rod Laver Arena, that was really exciting - Hrbatys 4th 5-setter in a row, also his match against Dick Norman in the 2nd round was on a knife edge.

I guess what this thread should really be titled is:
    'least marketable player on tour'

Can't they be great and still boring to watch? I thought watching Sampras play was duller then watching paint dry. I don't think that makes him less of a great player, just not my cup of tea.

I'm not sure why you're bringing up some of these players.
    - Verdasco and Ferrer are not boring at all, especially on clay, Ferrer is very entertaining.
    - Stepanek has a very enjoyable S&V game. (how's that boring)
    - Chela is also ok to watch on clay
    - Hrbaty is entertaining, such a fighter.
    - Moya's forehand is one of the most fascinating things to watch in tennis.
I absolutely disagree with your poll, I think you don't know these players much, and you're confusing "not cool"... with boring.

this is my list of boring players:
    - Soderling
    - Youzhny
    - Roddick
    - Vliegen
    - Fish
    - Karlovic
    - Moodie
    - Woodbridge
    - J. Vacek
    - Davydenko
