Which ones would you say are his best (or maybe most important) matches so far this year? Off the top of my head, some are:
    -Tomic AO
    -Delpo AO
    -Nadal IW
    -Berdych Madrid
    -Murray SW19
    -Djokovic SW19
    -Delpo Olympics

The Wimbledon SF is the best he's played since 2009, atleast, IMO.

I think the SF vs. Djokovic was fantastic. Federer played that match with serious determination.

The Wimbledon final featured one of Federer's best net performances ever.

Most impressive match: Wimbledon semi vs Djokovic, just 9 unforced errors.
Least impressive match: Olympic final vs Murray, 31 unforced errors, 0/9 in break points.

When it comes to my definition 'impressive' matches for Federer are the ones where he goats GOAT mode throughout the whole match. These would be:

    1. Nadal in IW
    2. Djokovic in Cinci

Federer did play a lot of tight matches where he didn't choke (he would have if it was the past couple of years) and prevailed:

    1. Raonic in Madrid
    2. Delpo in RG
    3. Raonic in Halle
    4. Benneteau in Wimbledon
    5. Delpo in Olympics

    The worst ones:

    1. Djokovic in RG
    2. Murray in Olympics

Nope 2011 FO SF....I have never seen him play that well on clay bariring 2006CC Season.

The most impressive this year was 2012 Wimbledon SF and Finals for Fed.

I can't remember what I ate last week, let alone the points won on 2nd serve percentages or the winners/unforced errors ratio of several matches from one player.

Probably his final 2 matches in Wimbledon.

Also, his entire Cincy tournament, his performance against Nadal in IW as well. Also really impressed by his resolve in the Olympic SF, through out most of his **** matches in FO and the SF in Rotterdam.

Rotterdam SF? That was a very entertaining match, Davy really played great that match until he choked as usual in the second set, i don't think Roger played that badly at all, played an average/sub-par first set and then played a fantastic 2nd and 3rd set.

You can add WTF 2O11 RR against Nadal.

His 2011 indoor season was amazing and that was the icing on the cake.

Thanks, for the ideas. I would his first round match at Wimbledon, where he fed Ramos a triple breadstick.

On a side note, we should really devise a name for 6-2 sets.

Davydenko didn't really choke, more like Federer stepped his game up.

I also find it hilarious that Davydenko is painted as some serial choker. He has choked on occasions, but he has also shown steel as well.

Definitely Wimbledon semi final. Federer was rock solid for that entire match against a fully functioning Djokovic, unlike in Cinci.

Actually I think Federer's best tournament of 2012 so far is Cinci. He has fine form throughout, did not lose a set nor got broken.

I think his semifinal against Djokovic was his most impressive performance this year.
