I like having a hybrid string job, and I want to know what everyone's favorite/most lively synthetic gut string jobs.

    Thanks in advance

The most *lively* synthetic gut is Prince's Lightning XX--and you need to pre-stretch it for control, too.

i can vouch for lightning as well. it's got good elasticity. however, because of that it will trampoline on you if you don't pre stretch it.

I like Gosen OG-Sheep Micro (non generic). The Lightning XX is lively, but the gosen is kind of unique in feel.

Guys I'm interested in this thread topic as well, but could you also specify what you think is the best synthetic that you don't have to stretch?

    Thanks

I disagree. I never prestretch my Lightning XX...that makes it play more like a regular Prince Synthetic. I buy it precisely because it is so lively. The only downside to Lightning XX is horrendous durability, at least on the 17g

I string for my son, a 16 yr old jr tourney player. He won't use anything but Babolat Conquest 17 gauge. I've tried everything from VS 17 to Hurricane Tour to Klip Legend and he always prefers the Conquest. I've tried a blind test with him and he always choses the Conquest. He says it has more power than gut.

The Conquest doesn't get much love on these boards but it works for him. I've hit with it and it is lively.
