These women are not only flexible, they're damn strong! There are guys in the second half, but I was really impressed with the women's strength.

One of those girls had to be like... 5'2", and she could snap me in half... like it was nothing.

Yea, I thought I had pretty strong legs, but that girl in the very first act is just ridiculous...

Thanks, Rickson. My manliness is now in question from that video. I hope you're happy.

I have known some female gymnasts and acrobats although nowhere near the caliber you see here.

It seems that they have mastery over their body weight, perhaps up to 120% of their bodyweight. What they have is a really coordinated strength, balance, and endurance, which most gym-hitting men do not possess.

But if you are a semi-serious gym rat weighing 180 lbs and you go head-to-head against these gals (who usually weigh 100 lbs) in a benchpress competition, you will most likely come out on top.

Constantly amazed at what the human body can do with the proper training and discipline.

I have no doubt that none of those women could bench press what I do to this day and certainly not my max from before (345 lbs.), but lb. for lb., they are much stronger than I am. They possess incredible body control and they not only have tremendous muscle strength, they have incredibly strong tendons and ligaments as well. There are different types of strength and what these gymnasts do is the most important kind of physical strength, tremendous body control.

They are impressive, but I think the fact that the smaller girl of the pair may weigh 80lbs sopping wet helps.

Have you ever noticed with circus acrobats how incredibly muscular the guy on the bottom is.

In any case, anyone who can pull off a one arm pressup to a hand stand is obviously extremely strong whatever size they might be.

Totally agree. They are impressive to say the least ! Obviously none of those girls have the brute strength of normal fit men when it comes to lifting or breaking stuff ... but as you say ... pound for pound ... they will probably bury 9x % of all the male population (trained or not). Their incredible balance makes them look even stronger, because many of the things they do are actually based on balance rather than pure strength.
I also think that body control and is probably the most important aspect of strength and when you add that impressive amount of balance into the equation, you get those jaw dropping results.

Oh for damn sure! While I don't see these women bench pressing 315 lbs., I certainly can't see myself holding up another person with the tension of my hamstrings. So who is truly stronger? I might have stronger triceps, but those women definitely have it over me when it comes to tendon strength. It's give and take, but I'll be the first to admit they have much better body control than I do and I pride myself on being able to push and pull my own weight. If I could do what they do, I'd not only be strong musclewise, I'd be strong tendonwise and to me, that's even more important.

The real disparity in strength between men and woman is in the upper body where the anatomy is more different. We just put them to shame there. A lot of couch potato men can out bench press trained gym rat women.

But the lower body is more equal. There's no reason why women can't get their legs incredibly strong. Girls usually have the best form on squats too, because they're more flexible and have better posture. That's why Bond should have just punched that chick in the face in Goldeneye who tried to suffocate him with her legs. She may be a girl, but those are man legs.

I've heard about that female leg strength and I'm not so sure about that. Every single good streetball player I know, including me and I'm not that good, can outjump the ladies of the WNBA. These are professional basketball players! Shouldn't they be able to outjump us?

Yes, a woman that can dunk, especially in competition, is as rare as a unicorn. And a dunk in the WNBA is celebrated like the return of Jesus.

Given their lower overall bodyweight, and comparable leg strength, I wonder why. I wonder what male vs. female squat records for equal body weights tell us about gender differences in leg strength?

Well it's just closer. If you go to the gym you'll see a chick benching 90 lbs and squatting 155. You'll see a guy squatting 205 and benching 185. And his squat won't even count because he's not even going parallel, whereas the girl was ass to grass.

I dunno about WNBA players, I like all other men (and probably women) don't watch it at all, but I would think they just find the biggest, gangliest women they can find and throw them in a team. Look at the women in the Olympics track and field. And there are so many of these YouTube vids of girls with ridiculous leg/core strength, doing overhead squats with weight that would crush most men.
