I have a friend I have been stringing gut mains for and he would like to try a stick with a multi in the mains and poly in the crosses. Will this set-up play well? Does anyone have a suggestion on what multi to use? I have Excel, Biophase, NXT and LT Premier in 16 and PPA in 17 at home right now This guy is a very frequent string breaker and doesn't like full poly. Thanks for your help!

From personal exp when I switched from poly mains/multi crosses to multi mains/poly crosses the strings went from lasting about 14-18 hours to about 4-5. Before the multis popped that is.

I tried this couple of times some time ago, with X-one in the mains and Proline 2 or Black Code in the crosses and didn't really like it.
Also, I am not frequent string breaker, but in this setup poly crosses did cut through the multi mains fairly quickly.

I've used multifeel mains crossed with solinco outlast. Terrible playing setup coming from gut/poly previously. Every aspect of the string bed was inferior to what I'm currently. I noticed that multi feel is a rather "sticky" string so that may have contributed to such a poor hybrid setup.

Maybe I should tell him to forget about it. Doesn't seem like people have had great success with that set-up.
