    Q. Although you've said consistently that you think the French is the Grand Slam where you've got the least chance of winning, are you sort of actually quietly enjoying this championship and the ups and downs of how you've got this far and relishing the prospect of the second week here?
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, I mean, I enjoy it as a tournament. I always loved to play on clay when I was younger. I've said it many times it's my favorite surface to play on, even though my results haven't been as good.
You know, I feel like I can play well on clay, play very well on clay. It just takes me a bit more time to get used to the surface again. You know, I love the tournament. It's probably the hardest physically to win, you know, because obviously a lot of long rallies, long points, and long matches.
Yeah, I enjoy coming here, and it's very different to me than at the other Slams where, you know, I'm a lot more sure of myself there just because I know how to move well and how to play properly on those courts.

He's always said it's the most fun to play on.

It makes sense. When he was at the Sánchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona he must have practiced on clay a lot.

Note that Murray does seem to start virtually every interview with the word 'yeah'.

    On topic, interesting info cheers.

I thought HC (and grass somewhat) was his favourite surface.

Wherever he can win two matches in a row is his favorite right now.

He has always said clay is his favourite surface, though it's also the one on which he is least effective.

Those are the surfaces where he plays at his best, but Andy's always said he enjoys himself the most playing on clay.

Nah man, far from it. I think a Fed-Murray match would be great to watch. I'm waiting for the Murray that played Nadal in the AO semis to show up again sometime this year. (he's more watchable when aggressive and positive; can be a drag when all he's doing is pushing and grimacing)

It would be easy for him to dismiss clay, as people have pointed out, it's clearly his worst surface results wise.

I'm glad to see he enjoys playing on it though, it makes it seem more likely that he will start to pick up some nice results as enjoying the surface is half the battle.
