This time I agree - Murray has been on the rise and has the potential to extend Berankis to four or five sets.

The rise of Tomic and Berankis.

Expect those two to clash later in the tournament when they've beaten Geriatric Man and The Amazing Haggis.

My nerves are all shot. Murray is the most dangerous player in the draw, rising slams and Olympics.

Berankis punishes Murray second serve right on the first point. Great overhead - puts the ball away.

Berankis ground strokes are so crisp and powerful.

    Surprising for someone his frame.

Berankis has some really nice accurate strokes but he's really lacking the power, i feel like murray will eventually wear him down.

Berankis doesn't have a fair chance if linesmen and umpire keep cheating like this. Murray is spraying balls a foot wide of the lines and they call them good.

2 impressive backhands in a row from berankis and that forehand was looking like being in before it hit the net. He can really hit the lines.

Looks like a bad day at the office for him then.
He's got no chance playing like this. Get the bad form out of the way early I suppose assuming he get's past this one.

Whats going on with the seeds today? Delpo looking fed up and losing the first 2 sets and now murray seems like he just isnt in the mood, is it hot there today or maybe very humid and thats whats getting to them?

Also this match is Murray's to lose, he needs to keep the power up, berankis isnt coping with the pace murray injects into some of his shots and is making alot of UE's

Murray isnt taking this guy seriously, you can see it in his body language, he thinks he can play at low gear and still beat him, he cant. Berankis is playing some great shots and is very quick around the court, murray needs to turn up the level a notch.

Ugh i cant watch this, this is the worst iv seen andy play in a long time. Alot of people dont like murray's pusher style play but normally i dont mind it coz he does unleash the brutal shots every so often but this match is just awful from murray.

If berankis could actually deliver on his break points then he could be 2 sets up by now but he cant convert the big points.

Last time I watched Berankis was at LA Open...he was miserable that day. Today he looks so calm ... seems like good talent indeed... but his forehand looks like it has tendency to break down!!

Well you've gotta hand it to murray, playing an awful match and the oppenent is playing the better shots and moving much better but when it comes to the big points, murray takes them and berankis doesnt.

    Murray 2 sets up.

He doesnt imo, murray has given him plenty of chances to break him but he doesnt take them, his backhand is fantastic but there isnt much else there to threaten the top players. Murray is just having a bad day.

Murray goes from playing like an amateur to now looking like a world beater!
If he goes on from here to win the tournament he should look back to this match and thank Barankis for giving him a good kick up the backside and getting rid of the cobwebs.

Murray's overall a stronger player yet but berankis showed his shot making ability and net game is actually superior to murray. berankis needs to be more efficient with his ground game and be more aggressive. his level dropped a bit so I don't know this match but I think berankis will be able to beat murray in near future.

I think you are giving him a bit too much credit, murray is clearly not playing anywhere near his usual best and he's still 2 sets up and a break up. Murray anywhere near his top form would be crushing him.

His shot choice is alright but he's made so many UE's in comparison to winners and his mental focus on the big points is awful, breaks murray and murray breaks straight back the next game, stepping up when he needs to.

I dont see him beating murray anytime soon.

I wouldn't judge Murray on this form. There's a reason he beat Djokovic and Federer at Olympics and USO and it's definitely not based on today's showing.

Murray is not playing awful out of nowhere. it's precisely because berankis game is not making him very comfortable. I think berankis can up the intensity level of his own game with more experience. better defense and offense. Murray's level is kinda leveling out now in his career. we shall see.

Berankis has played well but believe me Murray has also been generally awful.
Del Potro and Cillic both out. What's going on with the top players today?

The only real threat to Murray was Delpo and he is out. He is a lock for the semis now. Once he gets there, anything can happen in the next two matches based on that day's form, can't really predict much based on the earlier rounds.
