I just saw on BBC that Murray is out of the doubles rubber because he once again aggravated his wrist injury during his singles match. Does anyone know if that's the serious injury that kept him off the court for months in 2007?

And Murray revealed he may need a break, saying: "I need to take some time off and let it try and recover.

"I can't make it worse every single day and then by Sunday be struggling."

The world number three added: "I don't want to sacrifice the lot to play in the tie and end up hurting myself so badly that I can't play for a few months.

"Every time I play on it, it's making it worse. You never know how much damage you can do to yourself, you just hope it doesn't get so bad you can't play.

"Four or five days [rest] isn't enough."

Murray, who was out for three months when he injured his right wrist in 2007, admitted he is unsure how long it will take to heal but will see a specialist before deciding whether to play on or not.

"If it takes four months to get better, it takes four months. If it takes a week, then it'll take a week," he added.

"I'll go back up to London, I'll go see the specialist I saw when I hurt my right wrist and make a decision on what I'm going to do next."

Perhaps we shall win against Poland. But what next?

GB captain John Lloyd revealed Colin Fleming will partner Ross Hutchins in Saturday's doubles if Murray is unable to play.

"I would love Murray to play but he's a professional athlete and he knows his body a lot better than I do," said Lloyd.

"He'll go as far as he can but if he can't play three matches, he can't play three matches. I don't know what he's going to say."

It's the left wrist this time, although he also has a shoulder injury with a funny latin name that I can't remember.

The latin name for both (wrist and shoulder) injuries is Juan Martin Del Potro :twisted::twisted:

just like Rafa, Murray can't catch a break.

That's the reason he lost to cilic.

He should take all the time off he needs.

He needs to concentrate on breaking through and winning a Slam - let the end of this season slide if it means he can get himself in good shape for the Australian.

The worst-case scenario is letting this become a permanent nagging injury.

Sorry, but Nadal is not even in the top 100000000000 of the list of people I admire in this world.

You on the other hand is an obsessed federer fan, who would probably give his life for him right?

Give it up..he is Nadal's pigeon.

But according to Nadaltards, Rafa is ALWAYS injured, so how does he manage to ever win?

Was Nadal also injured when he got spanked by Tsonga at the '08 AO?

but you see, I am very objective. I actually think Tsonga TRULY outplayed Rafa in that match, so did Gozo the year before.

Söderling at the FO? HELL NO!!!

Don't you know that the older you get, the LESS sleep you need? It's babies and little kids like you that need the most sleep. :(

And the only logical explanation for someone coming to that conclusion is that you never saw the entire match. Either that or you're just a biased Nadatard. My guess is that you're guilty on both counts. :(

He should be taking a couple of weeks of and if he is ready for Shanghai fine if not no big deal. There are still 2 months until the only big tourney left the TMC and until then the top players will play here and there to gather a few points but this period in the calendar is more important to the players who haven`t qualified for TMC but still have a shot
Also putting pressure on Murray playing Davis Cup is ridiculous. It`s not like the team are in a world group fighting for the title. They are in no man`s land and even with Murray there is a high chance the score will be 3-2 for Poland.

Agree about the Davis Cup, even the very few real tennis fans over here couldn't give a damn about it.

Maybe he should just play and just slice all his backhands and charge the net constantly to avoid using his left wrist.

Might even be good for his game
