its supposedly the one he uses, only without the shorter pallet. i.e. the string spacing is like his.

Wow that was a lot of money, and as it turns out the retail plays virtually identical to the fed edition

Isn't it supposed to? The Fed edition is simply a collector's item, not a viable alternative to the nSix-One Tour.

Interested in selling one? I'd like to buy one. Is this readily available in Japan? Maybe I should make a trip over :D

Like all Wilson frames, you can contact Wilson directly (tell me if you need the #) and the first time you ask them for a replacment grommet it will be free, but every time after that you must pay (its around $6ish I think). They had grommets of my Sting so I'd imagine they have grommets of this one.

That's because they had to make room on the outside of the beam, where the hologram normally is, for the "Roger Federer" signature decal.

Then what version is listed on TW? Are these Fed edition specs for strung or unstrung?

ALL specs listed on TW are STRUNG specs.

ALL specs listed on the frames are UNSTRUNG specs since you're buying just the frame and they have no idea what kind of strings you're going to put in the frame.

They used the exact same spec sticker for the Federer Edition as they do for the regular US version. I think the only "real" difference between the two racquets is that they drilled a different string spacing in the Federer Edition (the way Federer likes it).

swing index. And yeah, pretty much. ITs like heads L6 or S12 swing rating system.

Swing Index, the higher the number the lower the power.

It goes from 1 to 6, but it used to go to 8, I think. or at lest they once had a racquet that ended in 8.?si

The SI used to stand for "stiffness index." Wilson would clamp the handle and hang a 1 kg weight from the tip. The SI was the deflection of the tip in mm.

But sometime during the 90's, Wilson changing the definition of SI so that it now stands for "swing index." Now the SI is the result of an unreleased formula that includes head size and length, that supposedly is inversely related to the power level. The old SI was much more useful IMO when it still stood for the stiffness index. I e-mailed Wilson to complain, but the Wilson rep who responded was clueless and didn't know much about the meaning of SI.

I think those SI ratings are pretty much useless in many cases. For example, compare the PS 6.0 85/95 with the PS 6.1 Classic. Going by the SI, you would assume that the PS 6.0 85/95 is stiffer and more powerful since it has a lower number. However, anyone that has played with both knows that the PS 6.1 Classic is much stiffer and more powerful than the PS 6.0 85/95.

You do know these racquets are collectors items. If they play exactly like the normal ones, its not worth using them - for they will be worth more in mint condition than played with.

Only 1350 RMB each in China, about $170.

1000 RMB for normal asian edition.

its the same racquet as the us tour 90, why wouldnt it be...you paid for some strings and a fake signature....still nice racquet, but way overpriced...

ps, its not really federers racquet...

But I think it's as close as you're going to get. I think the only real difference is that Federer's actual racquet has the shorter handle pallet.

Definitely agree that they messed up the rating system when the named the Classic a 6.1.

    And the nCode Six-Ones too...

Why doesn't Wilson sell a racquet with Federer's exact specs? It makes no sense to me.
