Me and some buddies are starting a band;I can sing, one can drum and the other two can play guitar and we are all good at our positions. We are good with writing songs, but the one thing we are having trouble with is the name!

Here is a little list we made
• Man on the Moon
• Plaugh
• Epidemic
• Pandemic
• Monarchs
• Adjournment
• Amethyst
• Peridot
• Greenhouse
• The Flights
• Crab Nebula
• Heirloom
• Embargi
• Muumuu
• Tell me more
• Gift of tounges
• Malleability
• Tropic of Capricorn
• Taiga
• The Crowns
• Domestic Bliss
• Grand Slam
• Cloud 9 1/2
• If the shoe fits
• G.I
• Magic 8 ball
• Birds of Paradise
• Skin deep
• Dejavu

Tell me which ones you like and if you have any other suggestions tell me

Rock, all sorts, not a single type.

I meant Taiga as in the forest type...

I'm sure that quite a few of those names are taken. Have tried googling all of them?

No, I haven't, but good idea. Even if they are taken, but not copyrighted, I can still use them

I think Run Pig Run would make a cool band name. That or Six Shooter. But what would I know, i'm only fishing up song titles.

Well, half the reason to be in a band is to attract chicks, so my 2 suggestions would be Men Without Pants, or, 4 Horny Guys.

I like the variety of name choices- did each member submit some of the names? If so, I think you can draw some pretty good guesses of each submitee's interests...

I really like "The Crowns." Even though "the ____" names are done to death, I still like them.

The one that jumps out at me as godawful is "Malleability." Don't use a nominalized adjective as a bandname. It sounds pretentious.

I was in a band called "The Managers," a name I really liked. The band went nowhere, so feel free to steal it.

I meant to write "Paper or Plastic", not paper of plastic.

Flip-Off.
Jump Buoy.

I think I've got a couple of actual good here:

Sonaxiom / Axison / Maxion (From the words sonic and axiom, which is a word for a self-evident truth.)
nFlux.
Derivative Thought(s).
Radical Notion(s).
Premature Escalation (Begging to be misspoken.)
Payola (Illegal bribery by record companies for the broadcast of music.)
Error 404.

Glad you liked so many of my suggestions.

If you go with "Embargo" then you can write a song or name an album "O' Grab Me," that's Embargo backwards.

Keep 'em coming SF, I'm making a ska band and the best name me and my friends have come up with as of now is ©Legintamint (pronounced lejint-a-mint), mostly derived from an inside joke. Our first album will be called Legintamint: Totally Legit!

It's nice that we're getting it together while we're all sophomores, plenty of time to make decisions. And we're all musically inclined.

Love em both! Just bought Streeetlight's version of Keasbey Nights and I've got Dear Sergio stuck in my head :)

I'm trying to decide what arrangement I want to go with, maybe 2 bones 2 trumpets, but I play the hell out of my trombone, so I'm not sure we'll really need a 2nd. And of course there's always the complaint of larger bands that they can't live off of their pay....
