I spent 10 days i amazing Croatia, It was such a nice place and high above my expactatins, My coach was Mirna Marinovic 20, fantastic player and great coach, I was impressed!
She has beaten the Dane Wozniacki, Radwanska, taken set of Azarenka before she blew her shoulder 2 years ago.

It was not expensive, 30 second walk to the ocean from the courts, I took a long swim after each session before going to the restaurant which served amazing food really cheap, Croatia does not have Euro so the preices are really great!

I recommend it to anyone who loves tennis plus the city is beautiful with great nightlife, beaches and food.

    /Peter Sweden

Here's a clip where I walk from the courts down to the ocean for a swim 8pm.
Wonderful to swim after tennis, shower at the outsideshower and eat dinner at the restaurant, paradise!=)

The restaurant is the building I point the camera at just before going in.

    Awesome pic's Pete. :)

You look like a tool wearing the muscle shirt and bandana... maybe the missing link between Jolly and the modern day tennis player. :)

    Thanks!
:) It's my mission to break all the dresscodes in tennis, today I played clay in runningtights and tanktop=) The summers are so freakin crappy in the north of sweden, 7celsius today and windy, no wonder I never learned to play on clay!

I just googled Makarska apartment and there are tons to choose from, the courts are in the Makarska tennis centre, very central and easy to reach.
From split where you land it's approx a one hour drive to makarska, most apartment renters offer to pick you up if you pat them.

I was down in Makarska last july and it was heaven, paradise and everything you can imagine!! The scenery is breathtaking and the food, drinks and weather is 110% perfect,, well, maybe a little bit on the hot side,, it was between 35-41 when we was there 1 week last year.

I only had the opportunity to play 1 time when i was there,, no hitting partner and all coaches was fully booked all week.
I did play with a good junior that use to play Futureevents and he was also hitting partner to Ancic during the winter and some former top 20 woman from Croatia that was coached by Damir Dokic,,,

They also have a WTA-challenger in Makarska in last week of April

I can post some Makarska pics as well to complement this nice thread!?

I'm glad u like the pics, I'll keep em coming. 2 weeks in sweden with nothing but rain, man I miss Makarska:) The feeling of running down from the courts, order a pastaseafood with a tuna steak on the side, going for a 15 minute swim, come up, use the outside shower and than sit down to eat by the sea. Nothing short of amazing and I will never forget it. It was my paradise.

Yea, you see i had this dream that i awoke in paradise & it was the most scenic place in the world, with perfect tennis (red clay) courts and the coach i had was the most beautiful girl.

    Seriously - you're one lucky camper - ok, I confess I'm envious...

What sort of academies are there -- are they really about developing juniors or is there something more like Bolletieri that takes adults for a week or so and works on their game?

Whats the average court fee per hour in Croatia. Do you need to book in advance (april/may). How much is a coach per hour?
