My pain level is now 1/10. For 2 Years, i was walking around and playing tennis with pain level of 5-7 out of 10. That was depressing Indeed. I have been seeing the Foot doctor for 1 and 1/2 years. did everything,,excercise, Steroid injection, and Custom $400 fitted insoles. Insoles did Help,,,i have to admit.
but i really started getting better when wore the K-tape 24/7 which is not recommended by the manufacturer. I have bit of skin peeling after 2-3 month but nothing bad happened. + I started to take Resveratrol supplement-- Pure kind, not the junk. and funny thing is my pain level almost went away,, Gone. I did nothing different than that supplement for last 3 month. K-tape i have been wearing for 6 month. 1 month ago, i stopped wearing K-tape because my feet was so much better. so i don't even wear the k-tape anymore.................:)

To cure my Plantar Fascitis, I invited CP3 and Centered over to rub my feet.

    Only one guy showed up.

    Worked great though.

Hey, i had this plantar fascitis for 2 + years now and have it become this much pain free, is nothing short of Miracle. It was getting so bad i was considering Surgery but good people like Cindi said Surgery is a bad idea. so i stayed away from that and Now i am finally better.

Has anyone had this problem this Long and have it get better ???

    That is actually pretty cool.

I guess my question would be, do you know what caused it and can you avoid a recurrence?

Perhaps Resveratrol is a miracle cure, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that.

I have been taking the GNC Resveratrol 500mg. $23 per bottle. I took 1 capsule per day. Started to notice something after about 50-60 days or so. but i am being told by immunist forum that this is not the best Resveratrol out there.

My guess is that your PF would have disappeared a long long time ago if you just wore night splints, which you have been refusing to do for some lame reason.

Mmm, yes, supposedly a doctor attending Harvard isn't it?

A doctor who can't even spell the second word of a condition he has had for 2 years, both in the thread title and a post in this thread.

And the word satellite. But seriously, my 4 year old nephew gets fasciitis right....

NO, because you will have to eat about 500 barrels of Grapes to get the same effect of 1 bottle. it is highly concentrated Resveratrol that is present in only very small amounts in grapes.

Have heard a lot about the benefits of grapes and red wine.

But quite frankly, these are anti-oxidants kind of stuff. How on earth can they have an effect on Plantar Fascitiis?

It is reported to be an anti-inflammatory agent.

"Resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene) is a phytoalexin produced naturally by several plants when under attack by pathogens such as bacteria or fungi.

Resveratrol is currently a topic of numerous animal and human studies into its effects. The effects of resveratrol on the lifespan of many model organisms remain controversial, with uncertain effects in fruit flies, nematode worms,[1] and short-lived fish. In mouse and rat experiments, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, blood-sugar-lowering and other beneficial cardiovascular effects of resveratrol have been reported. Most of these results have yet to be replicated in humans."

I ordered some KT tape 2 days ago from TW, so this topic is giving me hope that I can cure my PF as well. Ive been dealing with it for almost 2 years and it has severely limited my moment on court and caused consistent pain off the court.

No, thanks though. I googled it just now and found it.

Interesting stuff. Did you ever use the taping while you continued to play tennis? Or was your PF bad enough to lay you up completely?

Wow!! Congrats on finding out how to "cure" your PF.
I am SO relieved to hear someone else has figured something out.

The only thing I have done so far is Gel-Insouls and they have helped a lot.. but not enough to bring it down from 6/10 to 1/10 pain level.

I will be looking into the KTape and giving it a shot.

They should pay you for helping them sell tape :)

I'm not too sure about this pill supplement. I'll try the tape/Insouls for a while and see what happens.

Then I'll move onto Night Splints.

Ibuprofen and Aspirin has side effects such as gastric upset and ulceration, like stomach troubles or ulcers. Long term use can cause high blood pressure and or heart attack even at low doses such as over the counter motrin.

I'm an old guy and I had PF a few years ago. In the long run, two things made it go away: (1) arch support inserts; and (2) regularly stretching out my calf muscles and hamstrings. If you suffer from PF, I highly advise both, esp. the stretching.

I am also not a young guy... just had my 1st PF this season. Following the advice listed on TT.. and the trainer for my tennis team.. it seems to be almost gone. "regularly stretching out my calf muscles and hamstrings"... very key in my case and doing your basic R.I.C.E. Rest if you can get it really helps the most. I got some great advice from Cindy also!!

Fedace: I have tried the taping techniques shown on the Ktape website and haven't been able to get good results by taping myself. Did you have someone taping you, or were you doing it yourself?

Nope, i tape myself. for me, taping by itself wasn't the cure. excercises and orthotics from my doctor all contributed in me getting better in my opinion. I did notice dramatic difference after the use of Orthotics. I used both Tape and orthotics together. Now i don't have to use the tape anymore.

Stretch the 2nd tape in the arch like the tape saids. and if you need additional instructions, the Email the guy in the Website. He is Very helpful.

NEW instructions on tapeing the Arch
