Good stuff. A guy could learn something hanging around here. By the way, do you teach anything about rotating the hip into the swing a split second before committing the rest of the torso, arm, racquet, etc.? I seem to be getting two messages on this, one yes one no. I kind of like initiating the swing with the hip and letting the rest follow behind. Make sense???

5263, for me when I'm playing well a couple things happen. One is the ball slows down, and really slows down just before contact, thats when I know I'm really watching it well and on my game. The ball sometimes feels like it just stops and then pow...

Also, in regards to catch and throw which you've used this term before I've heard this from a few coaches while I was a junior. I'm 30 now so you can guess how long ago that was ;-) Anyways, do you know that little toy with the wooden paddle that looks like a racket, a string attached and a rubber ball? Well, thats kinda how it feels as well, like the ball is on a string. Your racket follows the ball and you 'catch' it and 'throw' it back, and forth and back and forth.

Zolar, for me the swing starts from the legs if you're going full out. Load from the legs, through the torso/hips, shoulders, arm, racket etc. I know I'm not doing that in the video, but then again if I hit every ball all out it wouldn't be a practice rally right? :)

I just watched your serve video. As with your groundstroke video, awesome easy, smooth power with consistency and accuracy. The only question I have is why would you practice serving at a gun range? It would **** me off when people fire their rifle each time I hit my serve...

    solid backhand, period.
forehand is weird at times, you kinda hack it down or slap it. try leaning forwardd a bit too on the forehand.

This is what we have talked about with "waiting" and not getting the racket back too early. It is hard to describe this any better than you have here; how the ball just seems to come up and stop for us when we track and stalk the ball well, in-spite whether it takes 1 or 2 seconds for the ball to arrive to our side of the court. I guess for those who have not experienced this as you have, it's hard for them to relate.
    thanks,

Geez, I haven't played a real singles match in a while. Give me an easier question. Each time I play now I'm battling with myself to get my feet and feel back into order but in terms of things to improve it would have to be my returns. Strength is my serve. Backhand depends, if I let the ball play me I'm done, so its a mind set. Like in the video I'm passive and it shows, but then again its difficult to swing out on your shots when you play 1-2x a week for an hour each.

What were your guesses? I'm interested in hearing this.

I am talking about back in the day, of coz.

What do you opponents say about you?

strengths - serves, net game, ?backhand

weakness - lack of intensity, focus waivers, inconsitent FH - suprise, suprise

Interesting. I used to get picked on my backhand all the time, not forehand by good players. Lack of intensity...well I'm not Nadal ;-)

Nice! I like the way you accelerate through the ball with your shots.

Cool, but I asked you what YOU thought about my game not what others thought. Its cute that you went around town asking people about me, kinda bordering on stalking but hey its the internet right. :)

Well you even stated before of what others said about me, so how else would you find out without asking?

AFAIK, there are only 2 warm up vids of tennis_balla, so how come soooo many pages of analysis?

And T_B, why are you expending precious energy on PW??

I don't understand it either, but like I said in another thread it seems like I'm the flavour of the month here. Its just a warm up video you are correct and its nothing special. Most of the attention comes from pushing_wins. Not sure what he's trying to accomplish but I'll play along for now. If he wants me to send him my autograph I'll have to think about it though, don't want people cashing in on my fame ;-)

I had no idea TB was your girlfriend. That thread makes much more sense to me now.

No offense intended to you by the way TB. Just ignore the above comment to PW if you could.

Huh? Edit? I haven't edited my posts at all, what are you talking about?

You talked about my strengths and weaknesses in a way of how my opponents view me. You said "What do you opponents say about you?" Then below gave examples, so to me it looked like you asked around. You did this exact same thing either either in this thread or in another, I cannot remember now but it was worded the same.

To be honest I just hope this thread dies, cause its not contributing anything to this forum and its making you pushing_wins look bad to be honest. So just let it go, let it die.

Yeah yeah.... I know my strokes arent exactly pretty. But Ive played enough and worked hard to make them efficient while also being aggressive. I take some pride in the results Ive had with no serve and ugly strokes by making up for it with athleticism and determination.

Agreed. You hit a nice, solid, consistent ball. There's nothing ugly about that.

PW why do you start so many threads (inane ones too, eg why is it wrong if i call my gf stupid, and how can i get my coworkers sacked) and also interrupt other threads and try to make it all about you?

what does that say about your need to want attention and insecurity?

    It's getting tiring....
