A few days ago I placed an order with Tennis Warehouse for a couple of nice new shiny RDS001 Mid racquets. When they arrived I put my kids toys to work, just like I did when my Nike tennis clothing arrived.

    Without further ado...

At last! UPS has delivered the goodies in the oh-so-stylish TennisWarehouse logo cardboard box.

Yoda and Luke Skywalker were the first toys to arive. This turned out great, since they both had their light sabers to open the box with. Luke was a little tired from just playing doubles with Yoda earlier in the day so Yoda took to opening the box.

Yoda slid down the face of the box, cutting the tape with his light saber while Luke practiced his service return motion.

Then Yoda and Luke opened up the box...

"A perforated hi-tech gamma grip, it is", said Yoda.

As soon as the first piece of loot escaped the box, Batman swooped in to scope things out

Then, Superman landed with a "thud" on top of the box
    [IMG]

Next on the scene was Spiderman, who had no idea what the replacement grip was. "What is this, a superfriends episode?", asked Luke.

Spiderman pushed the grip out of the way in order to make room for what lied next.

Spiderman told the other toys, "stand back, I'll shoot my web onto the other stuff and pull it out of there in no time!". Batman said, "Hey, that looks like my form on my volleys. Nice balance Spidey."

Spiderman forgot to take into account the weight of the grip compared to himself and couldn't release his grip in time. This made Spiderman think about patening his very own ultra-tacky overgrip powered by his own sticky web.

Next, Superman grabbed a grip out of the box

Then Superman tossed it onto Spiderman and told him his racquet has more swingweight than that box of grip did. Somewhere Marius Hancu was overheard giving Superman advice on arm-friendly grip boxes.

Then Batman and Superman stood over Spiderman telling him that they needed someone to team up with Wonder Woman for mixed doubles next weekend. Since Spiderman was pinned with no way out, he agreed to partner up with her. Then Superman and Batman told Spiderman that Wonder Woman was really just Martina Hingis in disguise and laughed at Spiderman.

Out of nowhere, suddenly a topless Barbie Mermaid appeared

Spiderman, Superman, and Batman all used their powers to stand next to her within 0.0001 seconds.

News of the topless Barbie Mermaid spread quickly and soon Zerg, A ninja Turtle, a tie-fighter pilot, and Obi-Wan Kenobi were all making her the most popular toy in the house.

Once I picked up the Mermaid and hid her, the other toys were able to get back to work on pulling the rest of the gear out of the box

Zerg, Michaelangelo, and a tie-fighter pilot pulled the racquets out of the box
    [IMG]

Superman and Zerg worked on the stencil inks while Batman tried lifting the reel of 1/4" lead tape.

The reel of lead tape proved too heavy for Batman so Spiderman and Superman had to come help out. Superman said, "I think maybe 2 reels of this tape might be enough for my racquet."

Zerg, Michaelangelo, and the tie-fighter pilot finished pulling the racquets out of the box. Zerg said that he was tired of seeing people buying players racquets and that they should all be using oversized heads like Buzz Lightyear does.

Next, Superman and Spiderman worked on getting the 2006 Collection Yonex 3-pack bag out of the box.

Batman came over to help out and soon it was out of the box. For some reason the Mermaid showed back up just as the toys were finishing up.

Spiderman, Superman and Batman told me they were done and wanted to "visit" with the Barbie Mermaid now so, I told them to just arrange everything so I could take a picture of it all.

    All the gear...

    Final Tally:
2 Yonex RDS 001 Mids strung with Luxilon Banger 16 Orig. on the mains and Luxilon ALU Power Rough on the crosses, both at 63 lbs.
    Yonex Mid stencil
    Prince stencil
    Volkl stencil
    blue/red/white/black stencil inks
Yonex Tournament 2006 Thermo 3-pack bag
    reel of 1/4" lead tape
reel of Unique Vinyl Finishing Trim Tape (Black)
6 Gamma Hi-Tech Perforated replacement grips

For those wondering about the stencils and ink - my next purchase is going to be a stringer, and I'm going to try and make some money doing string jobs for the local boys & girls high school teams. (As well as doing my own string jobs)

Nope. I have elbows/arms of steel apparently. I've never experienced tennis elbow or anything pain-related injuries like those.

(sry for the out of place post)

while looking at yer story (which was really funny), i noticed that you bought a yonex tennis bag. i was meaning to buy one as well. from your experiences with it, does it hold a lot of things? i know that you can put three racquets in it, but could you put one or two racquets in it, and still put like a pair of shoes, etc in it? also, how big the side compartment?

    thanks in advanced

mr spaz, i have one, except i have the 6 pack (3 pack was too small IMO), and i chose it over the other 6 packs (like the babolat one), because it had backpack straps and wa cheaper. the pockets are great, large enough for all my extra tennis stuff (grips, strings, etc.), shoes, and of course rackets. plus i can put in a change of clothes and shoes, and my medicine (epipen, inhaler...) and other little things. oh ya balls too. its a great bag, and the blue colour is sweet
