Yeah, there are a few public courts down there. I guess you just have to know where they are. I used to play on them back in the day, but I couldn't tell you where they were.

Looking to Play in Myrtle Beach

Meet "Boomer"- the toughest opponent you'd ever want to play. While other tennis ball machines can feed the ball, vary its speed, spin and placement, or even offer the user the option of entering a programmed sequence of shots, Boomer is the first tennis ball machine that allows the user to actually play against it. Boomer can serve, return, play out a point, call the lines and the score, rate the quality of your shots - even talk trash - and can do it any level of ability, from rank beginner to world champion.

I'm in North Myrtle now. I've been here for the past 2 weeks. Too bad I didn't see your post last week. I wanted to test out some racquets. The Washington, DC area stinks for tennis shops. They used to be everywhere. Many clubs have also closed down.

This has to be one of the strangest threads I've read on these forums, but fwiw, I show 8 tennis facilities listed in Myrtle Beach on my site. Unfortunately, none of them have been reviewed to date.

BeachTennis - perhaps you could add a review of your facility.

    Beach Tennis,

I will be down in the area (Cherry Grove / Little River) from July 14-21 and be up for hitting a couple times that week. What kind of programs / tennis do you offer that I might take advantage of? I'm a 4.0-4.5 player.

    Thanks

For any of you going to the Myrtle Beach area and looking for some tennis I would highly recommend going to see Coach Erik at the MB Tennis Center.

Was there last week and he's got some group stuff in addition to the private lessons and ball machines. Overall a good guy and he makes the tennis FUN!
