Not bad... Just hope he shaves off those exos at the end of the year. Unless he plays Sampras anyways

This thread is a guessing game. Rafa hasn't revealed its 2014 schedule.
Buenos Aires Herald wrote on November 19: "Nadal did not deny participation in the ATP Buenos Aires in February saying he will decide his schedule for 2014 after this tour."

Rafa announced on Wednesday that he would participate in the Copa Claro tournament (ATP-250) in Buenos Aires in February.

There is now way he will play all those tournaments. He normally taked Feb off and waits until Indian Wells.

If he does play all these tournaments at the start of the year I am hoping he gives Shanghai and Tokyo/Beijing a skip.

Seems a bit heavy tournaments wise, he needs to protect his knees more! Alot of those tournaments are all in the first half of the year. Needs to schedule them better IMO.

The ATP considers it normal to play 19 tournaments during a season.
    ---The ATP Rulebook
    9.03 Emirates ATP Rankings
    A. Commitment Players. The year-end Emirates ATP Rankings is based on calculating, for each player, his total points from:
¤ four [4] Grand Slam tournaments,
¤ eight [8] mandatory ATP World Tour Masters 1000,
¤ the ATP World Tour Finals,
¤ best six [6] results from all ATP-500, ATP-250, ATP Challenger and Futures tournaments.---
    ______________________
    Total: 19

A commitment player = top 30 in the previous year-end ATP ranking.

Very heavy first 6 months indeed - I don't the clay tournaments bother him too much - not much energy is needed to win some of these. As I said earlier I hope give Shanghai and Tokyo/Beijing a skip.

That's almost the problem, he'll be going deep in basically every tournament without rest. I think it's a bad idea personally.

Agree on that - you can certainly rule out Wimbledon if he goes deep at Australia and French (lets just presume he goes deep at other clay tournaments between the two). He might be exhausted by July - hoping it won't affect US Open but it will definitely affect Wimbledon.
