Who even brought up Federer? A very odd comment to make, and not analogous for many reasons (only 1 match on grass, Federer was in his 30s whereas Ferrer just beat Nadal while he's 31 and Nadal 27, etc.).

If you want to argue a stain on Federer's legacy just go directly to Nadal, which I would agree with.

Nevertheless, if Nadal manages to beat Ferrer today, which I think he will, he will do some damage control here since this is one of the most important tournaments after the Slams. Keep in mind that Ferrer has now beaten Nadal on hard court at both of his peaks on hc, and is 2-0 on hard court slams against Nadal.

Typical of the BBC to show this match instead of the match involving lord egg and a elderly old fart.

You do realize that some of Nadal's H2H will turn bad once he gets older, right? Do you think he can retire with a positive h2h against everyone in the top 30? :)

Man Ferrer wears some hideous stuff. Why is it always like fluorescent yellow and green on his gear.

They really couldn't use a better pictue of Nadal for this? It looks like he's running to use a cheesy pick up line.

Not him, it's Lotto. Look at all of their sponsored players- Almagro, Anderson. They are always in bright stuff.

Commentator saying that slower courts will help Nadal than Ferrer. Our TW experts think differently.

TW experts> any other commentator. The only time TW experts are wrong about a surface is when Nadal wins and they called the surface as fast.

Did anyone notice that Ferrer is the only one to successfully utilize weakness of Nadal's BH in 2013?

    Grass FTW. :)

have to agree that changing the surface to clay would be a big mistake, being probably the 5th biggest tournament in the world makes it special that it's on a different surface

Ferrer seems to be playing really badly. He was the only one that had a chance to take out Nadal. So expect a 3-0 RR.

Told you guys that Rafa tanked in Paris. Now look at him playing with intensity again. He will crush Ferru in straights.

You can see how the slow court affected Ferrer Wide Serve + I/O Forehand combo. He tried it at first but wasn't getting the winners he got in Paris now he's trying to wrong foot Nadal and missing it.

Why not have a clay, grass and hard court?

RR stages - player must play on each surface once (to be drawn randomly) therefore having 1 match on each surface.

Then, the top guys from each group get to choose which surface they want to play the SF and then the final is played based on whoever won the most sets/games.

    Ferrer is playing absolutely garbage.

    Nadal average but good enough.
