How many slams for RAFA?
I say 1.
At least one, possibly two.
Only 1, most likely French.
Yeah, one for sure and with that 7th title he will join 5 legendary players who won 7 or 8 Slams
Of course,if he can win two that will be even more impressive for 24 year old guy
I think he'll regain the FO, but fall short elsewhere.
None.Spadea to complete the GrandSlam.
One or two. The FO is a good bet for him, and he has a decent shot at either W or AO.
For Nadal, 1 Slam Win in 2010, but possibly 2, may transpire. I think the French is the most likely GS win for him, followed by either Wimbledon or the Australian Open.
I concur. I think Nadal has a lot of tennis left him. People got down on him fast last year.
I would say at least 1 to 2 slams for Nadal in 2010. FO and Wimby being his best slams. A good chance at AO too.
This is true. Good post. And let's be optimistic here and see how he performs throughout this year.
I would say FO but even this slam is a question mark..
He didn't had great results after French Open but he came to 1/2 on US Open and 2 Masters 1/2 and 1 final. That wasn't bad but just not good enough for his standards.
But remember,he wasn't even playing at last year TMC and Davis Cup final. This year,he was there to fight for every point in London even he knew what chances he have and gave his all for Spain's 4th Davis Cup
He will be back strong this year
I enjoy how someone rated this thread one star because they could not handle my other thread. Way to go! You win a gold star!
1 slam.
2 seems to be the going rate
2 is max. I cant see him dominating like Federer on all surfaces. That being said, 2 should be enough to gain him the no 1 rank. Question is can he get the USO.
Zero. But, I think he'll have a good year. All 4 semi's, 2 finals- FO&WM, but no slam titles. I also think he'll make 3 master's finals but only win 1. And he may be borderline ranked 3rd. And will definitely not make a run at #1.
I'd say he wins 1 slam, most likely
If he's in form, he'll be the top favorite for the French Open and a favorite for Wimbledon and the Australian Open as a former winner/defending champion.
Him winning the USO would be completely unexpected, but not a huge surprise considering the fact that he's made 2 semi's there in a row and won titles on the same surface.
I think he has a good shot at the channel slam again provided he plays the hardcourt tournaments judiciously and does not arrive with banged up knees in the loaded clay-grass summer season. The more he plays on hardcourts, the more his performance deteriorates with niggles that ultimately develop into full blown injuries. It's vital that this year he makes sure that he's fresh for F.O and Wimb, even if it means a crappy showing during the hardcourt season.
Two nadal and one federer
Maybe tanking some masters events following Wimby in a row to rejuvenate himself before the USO? That could probably help him since he doesn't have many points to defend in the masters between wimby and USO anyway?
I just helped you balance the star ranking a bit. =D
Zero. Maybe a couple of Master's shields.
none..but he'll win cincinatti, the real slam.
I say if he manages his schedule REALLY well, FO only
None.Droopy wins all four.
Nadal wins at least 1, I think he'll make sure he goes into the French very fit. But I think he'll win another one. To be frank, I think 3 is possible. But I'll go with 2 to be safe.
1 or 2 would be my guess. Will all depend on his scheduling, hopefully he withdraws or tanks one of the clay tournaments to have a better shot at RG. If he manages that, he'll have a good shot at Wimbledon as well.
2 isn't out of the question, but 1 is the safe bet.
1 or 2 he cant stay healthy for all 4 slams
We will have to see. Anything can happen. But at least 1-2 is a safe guess.
At least 1.
one.... outside shot at two
I will go with 2. The Australian and the French.
With the current form (and still getting better) and the way he is playing, I won't be surprised that Nadal will be able to take AO trophy this year. But the competition could be stiff. We don't know how other others will be playing going into AO. It also depends on the draw and players' forms.
I have a strong feeling that Nadal will win 2 slams this year (since he wants to win Wimby so badly, and FO is his favourite surface). but my guess would be FO and Wimby. If he does indeed take AO trophy this year, then he would definitely have a decent chance at 3 slams this year (AO, FO, Wimby). His chance at USO is beyond me. But I wouldn't be shocked if he could take it as well given that he still has enough fuel in his tank after Wimby.
2 slams i fink, AO and FO
USO Fed or djoko
djokovic may get a slam. best chance AO or USO
murray nuffin. he won't pass the quarter stage at any slam except for W. he's weak just lost to robredo
1 slam and that is the US open!
it depends completely on his health, if he is 100% healthy for the entire year its possible he could win all of them, not gonna happen though
he needs to stop playing for appearance fees and 250s and start planning his schedule in order to win slams
hes at the point in his career where the only thing he should care about winning is slams, not money, not fame, not barcelona, slams.
my guess would be one, fo
I can't say until I see him play at AO , But I'll say this - ppl did got down on him last year & that was kinda unfair - considering he is young guy , humble & above all a good sportsman - he didn't deserve that , IMO . & BTW - it is a good thread - very good discussion topic - rating it 1-star is kinda dumb ( I guess only boy-lovers & purse carriers would do that sorta thing a.k.a - FED supporters ) - if it is any consolation I've rated it 5-stars to gain some stars...
I say 2 slams I hope one is F.O and one is USO.
It really depends on how he fares at the AO. I think 1. 2 would be the max
2 slams. I think he will win the french and maybe wimbledon again, but more us open, because he will be more motivated there, because he never won it....
Uno - The French.
He will be close in both Wimby and Aussie Open.
When US Open starts, he will be done for the season because of injuries.
I predict Fed and Rafa to win one Slam each this year - Delpo and Djokster will win one of the last 2 and my outsider to win the last Slam is............Santoro on a wild card
Just kidding - Fed or Nadal will 3 this year - if Nadal is injury free he will win 2 and Fed 1, if Nadal has injuries, Fed will win 2 and Nadal 1.
Delpo or Djokster will win the last Slam this year.
Davydenko will be the most improved player of the year, and will win 6-7 tournaments this year, but NOT a Slam.
RedTard will break a leg and be out for the rest of the season, which is nice
Could be wishful thinking. We have to see as the season progresses.
