Rafa at Media Day in Monte Carlo on April 13
Losing because of an injury isn't shocking at all. This is humiliating only in eyes of his enemies.
Hey octobrina, how come you know so much about Rafa? It's crazy .
Have you done a phd about his life or something?
Rafa played in support of Naked Heart Foundation in Monte Carlo on April 12.
Naked Heart Foundation is a charity making a difference to the lives of children in Russia. Founded by Natalia Supernova.
Natalia flips a coin just before Rafael Nadal, currently #1, starts a game in support of Naked Hart Foundation.
A world of information is just a few clicks away.
Which injury you're talking about? lol....
I didn't bring him in. I sent you to him!
Wow the outfit is AWESOME!! I haven't seen Fed's yet but its a lot better than last year's line.
Ok, I almost went too far in this thread. Stopped myself right in time. This is Rafa appreciation thread.
So, let's talk about it. I actually am a fan of Rafa's game. I read his book and learned a lot.
I honestly don't think it's anything wrong Rafa not winning AO. He did even better than Nole who was the favorite. Trashed Fed in the process, stopping Fed from 18. And extended his lead vs Nole. So, Rafa did quite well.
Rafa once said I rather lose an argument than waste a lot of time debating it.
I was surprised how great Rafa looked in a suit. I thought he would look awkward. But he look like he belongs there being a businessman.
Dude! Fed's Clay season outfit is really awesome! You haven't seen it yet?
Wait i'll post a link for you
Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLhWwpY4ieg
I am trying to think who you are referring to.
Nice. Rafa Federer does to much back stabbing to be referred to as nice.
Patriotic Definately. Rafa. Roger is all about me He is patriotic when it suits him. Even the Swiss number 1 thinks so,
During a recent interview to Sport.ch Wawrinka commented "Roger has been saying for years that he wants to play the Davis Cup and it is important, but that's apparently not the case, It's a shame he turns things as it just for him... fit. " (traslate with Google).
Talking about the hope Roger will change idea, Stanislas said "I would of course be the first to be happy But I'm not naïve, as Roger says this for eight years. It is obviously not as important and not an objective. "
Family man Rafa again.I suppose you could be referring to a player with children, that could be Federer amongst others. I am not sure of how much of a family man he is though. I think the nannies have more contact with the children than Federer does. Federer's father was asked not long ago,
"You talk to them in Swiss-German?"
" Robert: Yes,that's important for us. The girls always drop back to English."
" Robert: Yes, because the nannys talk English. The girls talk a wonderful
honest and can win without cheating. Well that can't be Federer, so I'm stumped.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMXZ4SlZ-qc Tries to cheat Nadal out of a point Rome 2006 1.03.09
Does the same again in Madrid 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPBwjZwpOKw 0.21
Those are only two examples of someone who is honest and can win without cheating. I could list others.
Tomas Berdych borrowed Rafa's watch:
tomasberdych: "Yes it is 685k € watch on my wrist and Yes it belong to Rafa Nadal nice experience!! "
Why should it be in Nadal News?
it's amazing actually. you always have minute details about nadal. but fact is they don't contribute to Tennis! post some analysis of game or results.
enough with this tennis stuff... time to get serious about poker !

Good to see Rafa and Stan hanging out again
Rafa Nadal Clay Titles/Statistics Iconograph
Amazing Stats !
He will soon break the all-time clay-court titles record.
Yesterday's practice :
It sure is amazing, especially considering Rafa has played just over 300 matches while Vilas played 800+, plus most of Rafa's titles were won in high calibre, high point tournies like masters and slams while Vilas made a career of playing smaller tournaments all over Europe and South America.

Why does Nadal have a different racket here?
Rafa and Iker Casillas (the captain of FC Real Madrid and the Spanish national football /soccer team) will arrange a charity day to raise money for needy children. It will take place during the Madrid Masters.

A picture from the video
Rafa looks ripped today. Him and Djokovic are physical beasts.
And Rafa is still young. He will bring the clay records into another dimension.
@adel1609 : "Rafa working hard on his Forehand with Marc. More depth and more control than vs Ferrer."
Reading that makes me think that Nadal is now almost undoubtedly superior to Borg on clay.
Good to see you take care of the haters on ATP site, especially the ones who are 'a bit too old to be haters'
Reading that guy's posts reminds me of one poster here.
who put the stats together on this..what a joke. borg only lost twice at the French open ?..both times to panatta
sort it out. where did 5 losses come from..?, gits trying to change the past ?..I DON'T THINK SO. NOT HAPPENING.
It's the same racquet he has used since 2004/2005. It's just with a French Open PJ.
I looked into Wikipedia. There is a mistake in Wikipedia (in the ATP records article). Another article tells that Borg's win-loss ratio is 49–2 and win % is 96.08. Anyway it's lower than Rafa's win %.
I was wrong! There is no mistake in Wikipedia.
- winning percentage at the French Open is 96.08 (49W –2L)
- winning percentage on clay in GS tournaments is 92.65 (63W–5L) ; the US Open was held on clay in 1975 - 1977.

Thanks for pointing out this inaccuracy. It passed me by. Still though, I have a hard time considering Borg as being superior to Nadal on clay, whether it be in absolute terms or relative to his competition.
I'm not bothered who is or is not better on clay, but that factual error is awful.
Yeah, it is.

An interview from the ATP World Tour :
... and more Rafa photos
Good catch goosehead.
Vanessa Selbst (best female poker player in the world) talks about Rafael Nadal.
About poker : "He's a really nice guy, definitely better than I expected."
About tennis : "Tennis is my favourite sport, I played pretty seriously when I was a kid. Rafael Nadal is probably the #1 person that I follow."
About the heads-up : "It's a pretty surreal that crossed him, talked to him (...) you could tell that he was a little bit nervous and shy. It was cool."
About Monte-Carlo : "On day 3, if I'm not in a main event, I will go watch Nadal play. He should win. He won it 8 out of 9 years in this decade."
Borg isn't 63-5 at the French Open, he's 49-2. I don't know where they got 63-5 from. And if we're talking about all time clay-court titles, then Tony Wilding and Jaroslav Drobny have to be mentioned as above Guillermo Vilas.
Seems there are several inaccuracies in that effort, what struck me though is Nadal's winning % on clay compared to Borg's. It's substantially superior.
The person, who put together the statistics, has used B.Borg's results on clay in all the GS tournaments - the French Open & US Open.
See my comment above.
Oh, there is that. Unfortunately though the poster says winning percentage at Roland Garros.
