Well, as a person Nadal is a mature and conservative individual.

    Collars and sleeves rule!

How all he needs are really , really baggy shorts .

If he's going to go with the conservative mature look, he should complete it with wearing a hat. Kind of like what he wears during practice:

Personally, not a fan of sleeves and a headband. That's Federer's thing. Nadal needs to stand out, no? So a hat and sleeves would help him stand out from Murray and Djoko and Fed...

But the pirate look, always classic. Those days are over, it seems.

I second the opinion that he should find underwear that fits him better. Or just not wear any.....

I prefer his old look, but the new stuff is okay(just as long as he doesn't eventually turn into a Rolex and private jet shilling fancy boy like Federer).

This thread had NOTHING to do with fed

And that private Jet helped Nadal make it to a tournament when he almost missed it >_>

The old look was so much better. The French Open/Queens 08, French Open 07 and US Open 07 outfits rocked! I liked the long long shorts he had in 07 and before.

I completely agree. The old look was awesome. US Open 2006, 07, and Master cup 06 were by far the best.

The old look was unique, it really made him stand out. I got so used to it that I began to overlook the fact that it basically looked ridiculous. But, it was cool, different.

But, it ran its course. I think he chaged at just the right time. I'm sure Nike realized that there was mone to be made by getting youngsters to switch away from sleeveless and capris to the more classic look.

he should go back to the pirate look, because it was a little more different than what everyone else wears.

Sleeveless suits him more. With the sleeved shirt it looks like he's going to bust the shirt at the shoulders.

At first I hated the new look but since he has also cut his hair I think it suits him better. Gone is the boy and the new mature man has emerged -but his talent and charisma is still intact

I think he changed because pirates haven't exactly been enjoying a very positive worldwide reputation of late.

The new stuff looks better (and can probably actually be worn by more people) imo.

Next stop, cutting his hair short =p

Argh! I too prefer the pirate look for Nadal.

With success on court comes sponsors who want to capitalize on his name. But since not many people have the physique like Nadal's, they figured they'd have a better chance selling more conservative outfits. Unfortunately, they had to dress Nadal down for that business model to work. I think his transformation occured sometime last year or perhaps even a little earlier than that when he slowly started showing up at tourney with "regular" outfits.

The problem I see with his product line is they look just like the rest of the tennis gear you'd see on the racks. No discerning features or design that make them stand out.

I think at this years Wimbledon Nadal should wear one of those classy Federer sweaters and just rip the sleeves off!
